Christmas lights turned into popsicles, and I think the extreme cold is affecting their ability to function properly as well...

 

My cousin is pregnant, and both she and her 2-year old daughter have COVID. Needless to say, the plans to visit their in-laws have been totally obliterated; I FaceTimed my cousin so the little one could see the truck, and this is where I found out that "indoor/outdoor" doesn't mean shit when it's this cold out! The color changing set on the top of the tailgate has been totally bricked by the cold weather, and I've got two of the AA-powered sets that refuse to turn off all the way...

 

I initially went out without a hat (but I had on my leather jacket), and had to go back in for my trusty commie hat because it is so goddamn cold; I had to go back into the house twice while shutting off the lights to take a break...

 

There's a short in one these sets that's causing it to not want to turn off all the way, at least not without a lot of fighting on my part...

 

But gas furnace...

 

Weather is bonkers. Shouldn’t be this cold in the Northeast.

*My house has two gas furnaces and two central air-conditioners, one for the first floor and one for the second floor. The main level furnace, seen here, located in the basement. The second floor unit is located in the attic and is rather hard to get to...

 

Up the Poconos and further North in PA a few days like this might be normal, but here in Southeastern PA it is definitely not. We tend to get lots of snow, with temps staying above 25 degree, but this obscene!

 

Mine is mostly bulk stuff, but I have a few bikes worth some coin to the right people.

I wonder how hot I can actually get it in this house. Normally, we don't set the heat above 68, but it's also not normally 9 degrees with a windchill of -10!

 

I don't know what the hell this arctic weather did to my lights, but this brand new set won't turn all the way off or all the way on now...

 

I do not think that the infrared heater is supposed to be left outside when it's this cold, so I brought it in...

 

I also figured that it was a bad idea to leave my iPod in the truck overnight...
