Magnuson has them new, and also a new version that was recently released and has some improvements...

ill never understand why people cheap out on a supercharger, its already a luxury item where you dont need it, and now you want to buy a cheaper used version which will end up most likely costing you more in the long run with rebuilds and recoating rotors (both of which are incredibly expensive)

But! But! I want my cake and to eat it too! :angrygirl:

In all seriousness, looking for a used SC isn't the worst thing. As long as you understand that it will require an expensive refurb and is priced accordingly, I don't see any reason NOT to pull the trigger on one.

I just didn't like that the OP didn't appear to want to do the work of finding a used SC and just wanted someone to hand him one.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Agree 100% the buyer needs to know going in it is going to need $$$$ work!

That seems far to common anymore .

Don`t do any searching just post I need this part.

    Then never give a location.

I would wait till this summer and buy the newly redesigned TVS1320 supercharger that will replace the 20 year old design that’s currently available,
It’s currently in the design stage and scheduled to be released this summer.
Will be much more efficient and larger rotors with a 160 degree rotor twist compared to 60 degrees and will have 4 lobes instead of the current 3 lobes.

current supercharger is 1.00 volume of air per rotation,
New supercharger will be 1.32 volume of air per rotation ,

current supercharger is rated at 14k rpm’s max,
New supercharger is rated at 20k rpm’s max.

It will be point less not to provide a 6 rib crank pulley if the SC pulley is 6 rib.

Yes OP, wait until these folks decide to upgrade and buy their used charger. Nothing wrong with buying a used charger.

95% off these folks bought used first gen as well :rofl:and the amount of $$ they spend to keep it dated far exceed the charger.

It actually will be spinning much slower because of the larger rotors that are 1.3 cc compared to the current 1 cc per revolution

Don't answer the question I ask. Pointless to have a 6 rib pulley of your still running a 4 rib belt. The purpose of more rib is to prevent belt slippage.

You're making it sound so easy. What about the alignment of the AC and Alternator pulley? It's not a 1 belt system, it's a 3.

More than likely it will be a 4 rib pulley and because the rotors will be much larger pushing more air I bet the stock pulley will be close to 4” and that will not be a problem slipping, will have to see

If your not aware the Japanese 3.4 JDM motor actually runs a 6 rib belt in the same place we’re the USA version runs a 4 rib belt.
The problem trying to convert this is the fan bracket snout is a different length than the USA bracket and you can’t get that bracket here.
The JDM motors are all setup with the 6 rib belt, so there is a way if someone wanted to do it

    Anything is possible with $$$.

For the stupid amount of money spend (probably be $4500+) for the newer charger, it's wiser to run a ls3. Not your average 250hp 5vz that someone dropped about $6k after tuning and stand alone.

You don't get it do you, lol... Some of these folks think making 250hp from a supercharger is all the sh1t for a 5vz when in reality, you can spend less and make more HP without a turbo or charger.

Full drop, turn key ls3 swap when I was researching average about $7-8k. Do it yourself will be ~$5-6k or even less. Who wouldn't want an all motor 400+hp v8, lol. And if you live in California, the ls3 is smog legal if you have it bar'd. Just saying..

4500 for the new charger is on the low side. I would say it's 5k+. The older one is already 4k. Stupid money
