That was a good time when you 2 were up, need to get together again soon. My boy passed in 2020. Buttercup & I haven't been the same since. He lived to 16.5 years old and he had a great life. He was my sidekick for 15.5 years, i took him everywhere with me. It's tough losing a pet.

 

Have you considered aluminum? A lot of big name companies are making them now like CBI and RCI. I know the price point is an increase, but the weight savings and lack of ever rusting are big to consider as well. I’m running the CBI PreRunner front bumper and it hasn’t effected any height or ride issues. Just a thought…

And as far as suspension goes for your needs… I went with Eibach. I have their 2.0 setup which has the easy adjust collars. Basically just spin it with a spanner wrench and you can micro adjust your height and tension for fine tuning your suspension. Most others like Billies and OME use spring clips. Which have to be removed from vehicle to adjust. Kind of a pain in the ass while trying to find what you want. Not to mention front end alignments each time. Good products for sure, but dated technology. Eibach doesn’t offer leaf packs, but you can grab a nice full set of them from Old Man Emu. I went with the 1.5” aluminum rear block for now from Suspreme Suspension.

Paired it all up with Camburg UCA’s. You may or may not need them… just be careful of your CV angles. If the pitch is too steep, the boot fins will rub and cause them to prematurely wear. You certainly don’t want to be replacing them constantly. I’ve always read that 2” is completely safe lift height, 2.5” is pushing it and 3” will cause you problems. I’m right about 2.75”, and so far no problems or rubbing.

Last I heard the markups were ending… the rush has left and then the interest rates skyrocketed… but I heard they should be coming down as well soon, but nowhere near where they used to be. My wife is dying to get a T4R as well. Have you seen the new 40th Anniversary edition? In the infamous words of Cousin Eddie… “She’s a ‘bute Clark!” Comes in red and black too. Wife wants the white one.

I did and those things look nice! I might take a look today and see about those mark ups or email the guy I got my Tacoma from. I didn’t get too screwed lol.

We might be looking at the highlander too. It says there’re is more room in there but being a new model year is off putting. AWD and some slightly more aggressive tires will help. I wouldn’t get to choose the Cyprus color.

 

We went and test drove the Highlander and T4R the same day. Obviously the T4R is a truck, no doubt… the stiffness of a vehicle with a frame will always be more ridged than that of a vehicle based on a car, uni-body chassis, like the Highlander. That said, the Highlander rode much nicer, hands down! Definitely more refined and spacious as well. Was like being in a lifted Avalon. She didn’t like the mini-van like feel. Said it felt like she was leaning forward the whole time. So she hopped in the T4R and fell in love. Not as luxurious by any means, even in the Limited trim, but she felt more stable and safe in the higher and more rugged ascetics of it. But a lifter Highlander looks great in my opinion…

Not sure where you got your Taco… I went to Jones Junction for mine. They were absolutely amazing and played a little hardball with them on price. After a few calls asking if they were ready to accept my offer, the sales manger said come get it. Sadly, between supply and demand, I don’t think that’s a thing anymore. But nonetheless, great dealership. Koons is 10 minutes from my house and wouldn’t touch Jones price, so I went the extra hour to Jones and couldn’t be happier about it!

 

I got my truck from there also, as well as few other cars. Jones beat out Jerry’s. I had not wanted to go to Koons or Thomason’s.
I don’t know how serious my wife is about it so we’ll see. I’m sure there are no great deals anywhere right now.
Was also looking at interest rates and they all suck. USAA seems to have the best in my few min of checking but damn…

 

I can't say enough negative things about koons....I went to hanover toyota and they were fantastic....however, their service dept is a bit of a joke.

For a loan, look into point breeze credit union...
