Opinions needed on radiator support bushing

I’m going to attempt to add pictures to this post.

I get random squeaks over speed bumps and like quick elevation changes in the road. Like down hill to a flat bridge or dropping down into a parking lot. It’s a weird creak and thought it was springs till I researched some.

my radiator support bushings do not look the same from right to left sides.

I assume one is bad and that’s my creak

Those are not the radiator support bushings they are the front cab mounts. Those are known to crumble and cause noise and squeaks, replace with poly.

 

I always called them body mounts too and saw people calling them radiator bushings when I was researching

is there a way to tell if they’re bad. I have jumped up and down on my truck everywhere and can’t get it to make a noise. Take it for a drive down to the bridge…squeak!

 

you can unbolt and move them one at a time and assess the condition of the rubber. Think they are a 14mm. Place jack with a piece of wood to hold up that side of the truck.

the radiator support bushings are 4 horizontal mounted bushings that bolt to the core support, those are also known to crumble over time. What year is your truck?

 

2012 Louisiana truck just came to indiana this year 68k miles

 

Your sway bar links will also squeak, hard to see a 68K truck needing body mounts

 

I agree but I don’t know how it was driven the first 63k. Firefighter owned it and I know how we treat our trucks since a volunteer firefighter too

 

Body mounts on my 15 with 85k were all chewed up. They looked fine from the outside, had to jack up the cab and expose the top to see the deterioration

 

I replaced mine w/ about 100k more than you and really didn't notice a difference. I was bored during the lockdown years so replaced as much as I could for something to do. They don't seem to be giving you an issue so I'd probably skip it if I were you.

 

I have read of low mileage and with the bushings looking different I assume one is bad. I have some new endlinks in the truck just in case as well

 

I have an identical issue to these symptoms, just on a 3rd gen taco. Was the resolution found?

 

if you have worn bushings causing issues, you replace with new to resolve

 

Front body mount bushings?

 

I mean you could do poly
CMC or CMR while you’re at it
I forget the brand. The kit might come with rad bushings.
