I've looked into them, I'm reaching out to try and find one used just to avoid their 6 week lead times.

I also built a full kitchen and seating area in the back of my flippac. These are pictures of the v1. My current one has a hard mount 2 burner stove sink and a sink. I'll post pictures next time I open it up.

Also I wired leds on all the pulls in the flippac and some rock lights and when you set them both to the same color you get this affect

Got a good deal on a OVS 270lt awning and figured I’d try and get it to fit. The original brackets needed some modification but seemed to work out really well as they are mounted to the side of the shell. Of course the biggest concern is the fiberglass cracking but I guess we’ll just have to keep an eye on it.

    sweet!
...this is on my list of things too...got any pics/details of the mounts?

...bought a house late last year and flippac efforts have gone to the bottom of the list, but hoping to get back on it soon.

Ya I really need to do a lot of work on mine it really needs some TLC. Anyway, I found the awning used and it came with the factory OVS brackets. I thought about fabbing up some custom ones but found it easier to modify the stock ones.

I made a cardboard template to test fitment. Then cut the bracket down about half the thickness to make the 90° bend. Then welded the bracket back together after the bend.
    5B7B0523-C594-474A-89BE-0B18D4356132.jpg 2DC61C15-DB30-419C-901F-BEF022252E03.jpg 63448632-7476-43A6-B65D-BC034E617E6B.jpg 69185FC2-D7EC-4CD8-9232-0D70EC035A0B.jpg

I had some scrap 3”x3/16” strap steel and welded two strips together to make a larger backing plate. Of course I drilled through the fiber glass for 5/16” bolts. Not sure how this will hold up over time but seems to be working ok for the time being. Another option would be to drill and rivnut into the top 1”x1” tubing of the frame. I wasn’t confident I’d hit the tube in the center when drilling so I skipped that.

That was more or less the process. It took the better part of the afternoon to do everything but honestly wasn’t very difficult. Measuring was by far the hardest part haha.

@Taco505 Thanks for the pics! One of the other toughest parts is committing to drilling into the shell!

yea, i was thinking about tying into the 1x1 tube that runs near the top of the shell.
the backing plate is good idea...
i'm still debating whether i want to beef up the frame by putting some uprights in that tie into that horizontal tube and into the spacer that sits between the bed and flippac base.

Looking at purchasing a flippac. It says it’s a 2012 model and it’s on a first gen extended cab. I have a second gen access cab. Anyone know if it will fit?

did they make a different model for 1st vs 2nd or was there just 1 6 foot bed model? Thanks.

If the FlipPac is a 6' then it should fit fine, its a pretty generic size. The FlipPac I have came off a 1st gen extended cab and my truck is a 2nd gen regular cab.

Right, check the bed length (5 or 6 foot), cab type doesn't really tell much, though Access cabs are 6 ft. beds IIRC

Hey all. Bought a Flippac a few months ago, currently prepping it for a trip to Baja this winter. Want to put in a diesel heater, 2nd battery, solar panel - and I want to have an external fuel carrying ability. Ideally I'd like to have an extra 40L on the outside of the truck somewhere. I don't have a bumper or swing out, and I'd rather not spend that much, but I was thinking if I got a couple of fuel can carriers, bolted on an L bracket and then put that L bracket between the flippac and the truck bed and bolted them through the same bolts that hold down the flippac, that might work. I'd run them just behind the cab of the truck to keep the weight forward.

Anybody got any other ideas? Pics of my flippac included.20220409_125539.jpg 20220513_213135.jpg

    Hey everyone,
Currently on the look-out for a flippac for my 6-foot tacoma. Figured I'd post up here in case anyone is on the fence about selling but dont want to go through the hassle of posting an ad. Located in California but willing to travel out of state.

First post here! wanted to join the fun and show off my new flippac. I stumbled across it without really looking and managed to convince the owner to sell it to me off their old toyota truck. Thrilled with it so far.
