I keep a case of beer for our linemen.. and or they get hot food/drink in winter. I took a gamble thinking theyd politely decline..to my suprise only one time did they not take the beer. As far out as we live and the conditions they work in, we are very appreciative of their work. So many folks go unrecognized for their work...so many folks keeping the wheels turning.

The winters are harsh..i dont like the cold...but it IS worth it to me. The first snow always gets me excited for trapping and fishing for burbot. I enjoy the dark and cold by the woodstove with the wife. The aurora and the stars ive never seen so bright. We are so free up here...its not like any other place ive lived.

We've been wanting to put up a dry cabin for guests. Would be neat to have folks come up in the dead of winter long enough to see the lights and experience this beautifully harsh environment with us. Sounds crazy but a bonfire at 30 below is actually nice...
