Are you plowing and salting or just salting?

When my friend plowed highway, he had to use a 8ft plow blade. When he does city, he uses the 6ft blade.

Spring comes it's repair time on the truck.

Doing both. We use salt and calcium. We don't do highways. I'm county DOT, so we just do arterials and subdivisions

Highway is boring. Just plow straight without stopping.

Subdivisions suck. Cars parked in the street sometimes across from each other and trying to squeeze between them is a pain

That's when you plowed them in. They'll learn quick.

The house boiler took a dump.

We had one idiot park on the wrong side of the road, going in the wrong direction. We blocked him in. He use the plow truck to get himself out. In the end he learned. He never did it again.

I had to shut the heat off for a hour to give the boiler a break. I heat electronic control boilers. I does keep the heating bill lower though.

Then there's water at the bottom of the boiler. Everything at once.

Plowing Snow is never boring .

Dodging abandoned vehicles is not boring.

I have never heard anyone, not have the fantasy of having a nice V plow enough traction to push every car out of the way if you plowed enough years.

I think it gets more intense the longer you do it.

Knowing if you break it you fix it.

Staring at the open road with no one in sight for 100's of miles. To me it's boring.

State Police keeps the highway free of vehicles during a snow storm.

So your contractors plow 100 mile segments of the interstate??

Around here a 25 mile stretch is quite a lot.

We turn back when we are told to.

Depending on plow blade size, 3 to 4 truck lined up side by side.

Then there's the clean up crew that does the minor plowing after the big trucks goes by.

It's the falling asleep part that is a concern.

Especially when you need 100% concentration when driving visibility is poor.
