Well ur there with her, so i can only assume u love each other. That means a lot. When my wife and i met...we both had common dreams and goals, the Alaska thing was mutual...we both got lucky with that i guess.
Where is "the mountain west"? Has she been there? Im devious sometimes, but in a good way. Start passively pointing out the bad things about where ur at now and pointing out all the good things about somewhere else. Get her to suggest the move. ?

I have been using the custom marinade below provided by @Hunterdc1 Thanks man!


"I'll pass along my father in laws recipe, I've said it before he speaks fluent meat.
If you're looking for a new steak marinade, giver a shot...

This is for 2 steaks, in a flat marinade pan let them sit an hour or so in fridge
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/4 cup worchester sauce
1/8 soy sauce
Rounded tbsp brown sugar
Salt + pepper
1tsp apple cider vinegar

Obviously after you've added these items flip your steaks a few times to coat evenly.

The vinegar will tenderize your meat but start to break down your fat if you let it sit too long(all day)"

Reminds me of a trip we took to Ely MN. Stayed at a place about 7 miles outside of town. Darkest/brightest night sky I’ve ever experienced. Just spectacular.

Told the story about having to stop for a moose on our way out there. The lodge keeper was amazed. We didn’t think anything of it because we often see moose up here, they hardly ever see moose because of the wolves. Ironic because we were hoping to see or at least here some wolves but didn’t for the few days we were there. Excepting for the ones at the International Wolf Center….

Good time, worth the expedition to get up there.

 

That's nice work Jeff, my FIL is doing prime rib tomorrow, I'll try and get a pic if it turns out how I think it will.
Ive been mixing freshly minced garlic in my steak marinade, garlic makes everything better.
Looking forward to my little girls 2nd Christmas, she will be glowing she's so happy tomorrow.
Also looking forward to spending most of the next week after that in the woods, breathing clean air trying to kill something and drag it home.

 

Ive not seen a wolf yet and havnt targeted them yet either. We do hear them nearby...and i have a trapper friend down the way that takes a few every year. We have wolverine around our parts too. I wanted to go after the coyotes this year but the river is still open here and there and i dont want to risk it.
