one my cable ripped yes but that was replaced... but no the 2nd gens traction and abs sucked ass owned it for years and hated its traction control system so yes it was poorly setup from factory... its on this forum with others talking about it so im not the only one....

also all my armor was before they left so all my stuff was good and had no issues with mounting holes what so ever plus i was around up until they all left and the thread was shut down. lots owned the armor and it was rare to have issues with it back in the old days cant say much for after they left thou... besides people not getting stuff or eddie going ghost mode which was stupid... originally eddie was a chill person but obviously he went down hill fast and so did the company which sucks but its not the first nor the last for it to happen with...
overall my armor was good and my experience was good at first! it did start to go down hill thou and i watched it all happen sadly.... only armor i ever had issues with was rci.. broke a diff skid and control arm skids other then that no issues with my other stuff

the fog light shape was a new design tbh idk whhhhy he went to that design but he did it still confuses me to this day tbh since the new designs legit sucked...

you were the first to talk about abs i was talking about traction control at first but sorry if it made it sound like i fully turned it off or it was a oem switch my bad

I had a rear wheel cylinder give out on me and lost all brakes, and the red truck i snapped the short hard line on the driver front spindle. Drove home from Glade top with only my passenger front and rears working, which made driving those winding roads fun. Luckily the Eagleson's ran ahead of me and gave me spotting info for when i could take both sides of the roads.

See the thing is, third gens have three traction control modes... And one of those is "Off"

All good man, I think you and I end up talking and saying a lot of things and it boils down to almost saying the same thing a lot of times. Since Monday promises to be really slow at work, I think I'm going to do a little research into how the systems are split up between the different trims. I know overall they're supposed to be split between front and rears with different reservoirs, etc, but I'm wondering how much the hydraulic brake booster versus vacuum brake booster affects that set up mainly in the off-road versus other trims on the second gen.

    Yipes that's a fun time

If your abs is kicking on all the time, you should probably reevaluate your driving style lol

my driving style was fine btw... was use to drivingt without abs for years no issues got the tacoma and realized how poor its shit worked in snow and it being to sensitive so i just turned off the traction control in snow and it helped the truck handle better and made the abs not so sensitive...the 2nd gen has a bad abs system/traction control system its been posted before on this site it was pretty shitty on how it worked

news to me. I never had issues in my 2005 and haven't heard of anyone else complain about it before.

is your problem with abs or traction control or stability control? I dunno how abs would make it not handle well, but vsc or tc can be annoying depending on what you are trying to do.

ive read a few other threads about people turning off the abs(with the mod) or having issues with the traction control just not working like most think it should.

im mainly talking about the traction control but when ever it was turned on it would make the abs act funny so im throwing it in as well but when traction control was turned off my abs would be normal and not act super sensitive.

The only time I ever have traction control come on is when I’m doing something dumb I shouldn’t be and never had issues with ABS. You also have to realize reading online complaints is literally just where people gather to complain. You don’t have everybody that doesn’t have issues chiming in.

mine would always activate with traction control on in corners slow or fast it would activate and it would try and stop the truck but it never did and would lock my steering up i hated the traction control on mine so it was always off in snow/ice

unsure i just know i turned off traction control and the truck was then fine... my dad didnt like it much either because it was to unpredictable when it would activate so if he borrowed it he turned off traction control then it was fine
