I have the Cali Raised LED Premium Roof Rack and I was curious on if anyone has / or had ideas on how to make the adjustable light bar cover into an automated cover.

I was thinking removing the thumb screws for an actuator of some sort but I am not very familiar with them.

Ideally an electric piston to route to my Auxbeam switch box but I am open to ideas or a separate switch.

You need a waterproof short throw linear actuator, and a cleverly engineered bracket. Then a switch/relay to swap the polarity for each direction.

Trying to find something local that could hold that much wind weight in motion. But that is what I was thinking!

    waterproof r/c servo.

just set up the servo horn to cam-lock the linkage in the up and down position sort of like a door deadbolt does. that way the servo is only being stressed when moving the assembly, but not in either fully up or down position.
