Nah. Hear a click when turning the key then nothing. Not enough juice to crank.

Just nervous because the battery and alt are new; and I found a bunch of mouse stuff when doing the cabin air filter a couple weeks ago.

Doubtful mike. Unless he’s packing wire cutters.

So the truck ran after you found the mouse stuff?! Clearly the mouse came back with wire cutters then. All joking aside keep us in the loop as to how and why. Thanks.

Even new batteries can be bitchy with this cold snap we just got. Does it jump start for you, if not is it at least cranking on a boost?

I will have to check when I get home. Out and about doing family stuff. Will pull the battery tonight and will set it on the charger.

I'd just try a jump start first, give it 2-3 minutes

They love the soy based wiring harnesses. Common on toyotas and many others.

It ran Thursday and has been sitting since. Not sure if its the cold, or if theres an ongoing parasitic draw, related to it dying over the summer- when I did the battery and alternator. The old alternator was shot, and the new one tested good after installing. Could be totally unrelated to whats going on now.

Vinegar spray keeps mice away fwiw. Also vinegar can be used as a poison but is dog safe.

Woke up this morning to go to work and had a check engine light and TRAC off light on my GX. Merry XMAS to me! Hope your issue isn’t major!

Was going to ask what's a good deterrent that's typically already on hand. It was 7º here yesterday morning. The Tacoma was slower turning over as expected. Best of luck with the situation

Merry Christmas! What language is the ornament?

Didn't lose power at all during the storm. Thank you to the utility crews for their service - electricity, telephone, cable TV/internet (which more and more is fiber). Last night I saw several utility trucks parked in a hotel lot last night. They came in from other states and missed Christmas Eve and maybe some or all of Christmas Day at home. And it has to be tough working in single digit temperatures.

    Happy Xmas all,

Can any of you help me identify this bed cap that I picked up off fakebook marketplace yesterday. It needs some TLC for weatherproofing but fits the 6ft bed. Seller said it came off a gen 1 taco long bed. there are no logos or badges on the whole unit. it has a brake/interior light unit that has some U-Haul branding on the connectors so that tells me that it may not have been an OEM option from Toyota.

it did not come with a key for the hatch. Im guessing that I will have to replace the barrel or else the whole latch mechanisim. can anybody suggest a product to allow me to be able to lock the cap. photos below.
