I put an X2 in my Tacoma back around the same time you did. I'm in West Virginia visiting family for the holidays and we are enjoying single-digit temperatures.

This morning I tried to start my truck and it wouldn't crank. I put my jump box on it and the X2 was only reading about 6-volts.

I was able to get it started with the jump box, and drove it around for a while but it would not crank the next time I tried later.

Did I get a lemon or what?

We got 4 day of snow and rain here. Many had alot of fun on the road myself included. I did a clean up today to remove loose ice and snow on the truck. I had some vibration on the highway so i knew there was snow/ice inside the rim. But i didin't expect that much, each wheel was like that. First time this happen but we got like 70 cm (more than 2 feet) of snow with some rain in the end. A crowbars and some time later i removed some good chuck of hard snow.

I know back when I was considering building a RTT trailer I asked them and they said I could camp at either the RV lots or the Primitive sites. Don't know why just a truck would be any different.

I just got a code on saturday I didn't look up but when it popped up this morning I checked it out. P0306 cylinder 6 miss fire. :bananadead::annoyed: Could be going along with the P0022 I got back in the summer. Its been below 0 for the last week and half or so but its warming up this week. What should I be looking for? I know the P0022 can be related to the OCV which could cause a miss. Should I order new ones and throw them in or try to clean them first? I'm at like 185k and its my daily.

P0306 is usually a bad plug or a bad coil. I would pull that spark plug 1st and see how the gap is and look for any fouling, or oil residue, on the plug. Eliminate the simple thing 1st. If the plug appears to be ok you can do a resistance test on the coil. There should be a youtube or TW thread on it. A simple test would be, if plug looks ok, swap the coil to cylinder 5, reset the engine light, and see if the code moves to a different cylinder.
When you had the OCV issue did you remove and clean, or replace, the OCV. With the mileage that would be something of concern.

There shouldn't be anything wrong with the plugs I just did those last year but I didn't do the coils. I'll start there and then go further. Thanks

I made an edit. Move coil to cyl 5 and reset the light. See if code changes to P0305.

I didn't do anything with the OCV yet. Code came on a couple times when I was on the road and didn't come back after I cleared it twice. I haven't noticed any miss fire so I was surprised when it said it was that. I'll have to try swapping the coils later this week when I can feel my fingers after being outside for less then 5 mins.

Truck through the check engine light and trac off light Saturday night on my way home. Yesterday I pulled the code using my Ultragauge and got P2441. Went out this morning looking for any possible vacuum leaks as I had this same code a few months ago and it was a line blown off from my oil separator. Couldn't find any, but figured while I was there i would empty the oil separator jar. I found this:
    20221226_095215.jpg
The top was almost like taffy and everything underneath had the consistency of Italian Ice.
    20221226_095426.jpg
I checked it not that long ago, but I guess with the winter weather maybe I need to do it more frequently.

I wanted to send out a big thank you to those that responded to my post of a few weeks ago. I was having a shutter and noise as soon as I accelerated and put the truck under load. I had no idea of the cause but several of you diagnosed my issue as carrier-bearing and/or u-joints.

My son and I replaced both items and...problem solved! Thanks again to you guys. We had never attempted anything like this before but took our time and it wasn't too bad. A bit of advice, make absolutely sure that the little needle bearings in the u-joint caps stay where they're supposed to.

Here's a few pics of the work in progress and everything reinstalled on the truck.

I am searching for 2005 Tacoma Repair and/or workshop manual(s).

Please do not tell me about Clymers and Haynes; I am not interested in these.

And, I do not need anything associated with the various Owners manual(s) either.

I have managed to find the wiring diagrams on this web site but nothing for the Toyota Workshop Manual(s).

    Any help greatly appreciated....

    Thanks,

    Jim

RTTs are permitted at any site, they specifically say on their website that RTTs are allowed on trucks and are considered "tent camping". I unfortunately left it home opting for the bed of my truck on this excursion THINKING I'd find an easier time camping in the back of my truck vs a RTT lol
