Driving back from the upstate late last night after visiting her family. Hit this bullshit in Newberry in the CT. It was dark and just laying in the road. Saw it too late to swerve. Was more worried about popping a tire if I swerved. Looking under the car I didn't see any damage. I'm hoping it just hit a brace. Need to get it in the shop this week, put it on the lift and look for damage.

it’s probably fine. These things have more ground clearance than it seems.

Hey everyone! Just bored and wanted to swing by and say hi. About 2 weeks ago I destroyed my ankle at work. Waiting on surgery to plate everything back together. Have to stay in bed with foot elevated most of the time, so I’ve been watching a ton of AWD24/7. Really screwed up when I sold my tacoma. Especially now I’ll have an unusable foot for 4-6 months and my Jeep is a manual trans. I guess I can’t drive for a few months. Loosing independence sucks.

Oof. That really sucks. I hope you recover and don’t have lasting problems with it

That sucks. Have you tried rubbing dirt on it and walking it off?

I did… it made a lot of crunching noises and my foot turned 90 degrees to the right while my knee was facing left. I opted for medical attention at that time

Might be a career ending injury in my 30’s. Pretty crazy. Surgeon said it’ll hurt forever and will never be 100% again.

Gracious. Hopefully you got some workers comp to help. Let me know if you need anything, I’m right down the road.

No orthopedic practices in Columbia area accept Department of Labor workers comp. It’s a pain to deal with. Minus the paycheck, I would have been better off hurting it at home.

Did a little more damage than I thought but nothing major. It hit a frame brace which kicked it in front of the left rear tire where it ripped off the little flap and part of the side molding in front of the rear tire. Here's the right side comparison for how it should look.

Finally got a turkey frying set up for Christmas. What else do you guys use these burners and pots for? I know about fish fry’s, oyster steams, and low country boils. What else y’all got?

Pork skins! Get the pork pellets from Four Oaks Farms and some Nashville hot wing dust from Amazon. Pork pellets can be bought in bulk from Amazon as well. Mine are seriously famous in SC and NC. Was at a Christmas party Friday and had so many people asking where they were. I told them it’s normally not 17 degrees in Dec so they gonna have to wait until it warms up.

If you’re into canning you could also use that along with a large sized pressure vessel.

I like to do those one day at a time so they’re always fresh. Crockpot works well haha. Buy a sack and cook a few cups a day.

I canned for the first time this year. Did 8 jars of fig preserves. If I had a garden that would actually put out I’d definitely use it for canning.
