are you using longer length shells? I’ve seen that kind of issue when putting 3” shells in a 2 3/4” only shotgun. Long shot but something worth checking.

Looking to for some suggestions on getting another AR.

I have two from DD and looking at the new one they came out with, not that impressed with the cost to value.

I looked at BCM, SIG but wasn't sure as I have no experience with their products.

18 or 16 inch barrels I am indifferent.

One main purpose is to slap the can on it for a longer rifle and another option to what i have. My DD muzzle break is welded and I don't want to have to mess with barrel.

What's your budget? And what options does it need to have besides a 16 or 18 barrel

I've got BCM, FN, Bushmaster (original) and Windham Weaponry. They're all dependable and have been malfunction free. The BCM's run the best.

Around $1500. Around 7lbs or less. Indifferent on picatany vs mlock. Reliable/quality

Did you get BCM lower? Or did you go with a different manu?

His shotgun is designed for both 2 3/4" and 3" shell, barrel is marked for both length. We tried both length, same issue. Tried different brands of ammo as well with no success.

What 2 DD's do you already have?

To save a little, I just buy DD uppers and build out lowers how I want. MK18 (10.3), M4A1 (not pinned yet so 14.5), and M4V7 (16 mid length gas).

If one of your DD's is an m4a1 with a p/w a2 on it, I'd sell that and buy a brownell's DD m4a1 stripped. Then you can have whatever device you want pinned to it that will work with your can.

Picked up a harbor freight padded pelican knockoff over black Friday or just after and finally got around to starting on it today.

Well that certainly looks nice and organized. I asked for an Apache case for a rifle for my birthday and my wife got me a Pelican Vault 800 instead. I’m damn sure not complaining.

Are those nods? Isn’t it sacrilege to put them in a harbor freight case? Lol I kid of course

Have a ddm4v11 slw which they discontinued. The other one I'd rather not say:rofl:if you know what I mean. It's not the m4a1.

I am considering trading that one in plus cash for a ddm4v7 pro the metal gray version (18 inch).

But I'll look at their uppers and mix a different lower, good suggestion

If you're not against buying 2nd hand, you can always score great deals on complete DD uppers on ar15.com, reddit, or your locals depending on your area. I found my ddm4v7 complete unfired upper 3 years ago for $700. I had a complete factory ddm4a1 upper the previous owner replaced the risii with a geissele mk16 rail and a p/w surefire 3prong that I got for $730 shipped to me. I traded that straight up for a brownells factory ddm4a1 with a dd bcg and dd grip and rip ch, KAC finger stop, but no muzzle device. I bought a can and it wasn't a surefire can so the p/w 3 prong wasn't doing me any good for it so that's why I traded. But moral of the story, you can find so solid deals if you know where to look.

And maybe i'm just moving slow this morning but not sure I'm following about the one you don't want to mention.
