I know much of the forum is about mods but I'd like to find out if anyone here has done what essentially would be an OEM (or better) refresh of the stock front suspension, i.e. control arm bushings, shocks, maybe steering knuckle, etc. I have a 2006 Tacoma 4X4 (access cab, 4 CYL, 5-Speed) and I've noticed the suspension/steering feeling sloppier over the past year. (230K miles).
I'm not looking for a lift kit or serious off-road mods. My questions:

-- Has anyone here done a similar refresh? What specifically did you do?
-- What components would you likely replace given the miles?
-- Did you replace the steering knuckle?
-- Any suspension shops in the Seattle area you'd recommend?

    Many thanks.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Can I ask a dumb question? (F it, it’s Christmas) Have you ever replaced the rr parking brake cable? My truck started driving like the Queen Mary. The parking brake cable broke “on”. Buy the oe cable, only. 1/4 inch different it won’t work. Just a thought. Merry Christmas!

If you are keeping the vehicle go OEM. There really isn’t better unless you go boutique, no point to go boutique unless you’re building a specialty machine, which is expensive. Not a midlife crisis.

I replaced that two years ago. Thanks for the tip but I don't think that's the issue here.

Yeah. I'm keeping it. Great truck. Just wanted to improve what seems to be a tiring suspension. I'll likely stay with OEM. I just need a good shop...

there are tons of nearly new take off suspension parts in the classifieds here on TW. given what you said above i would consider that option for cost and keeping it close to stock.

Used to live in Seattle, if you're interested in OME parts you could look at Mule Expedition Outfitters in Issaquah. Never been there personally but everybody I know that's been said they're great.

This. Loads of almost new parts almost for free. They will be coming off of 3rd gens, which if put on a 2006 might be more of a lift rather than keeping it stock. But I bet there are a few threads on the forum talking about how to do it and pros and cons.
