Looks like the vehicle is a Nissan Sentra, that could be the factory steel wheel assuming that it's a Sentra.

The driver being insured is questionable.

Dang OP truck was nice and clean before the accident, I'm going with total due to age and cost of repair. Unless you can convince the ins co. To fix it, or buy it back.

I don't believe the women who hit me was on her spare. When she hit me, it basically blew apart anything plastic on the front of her car! Her hubcap was plastic. It appeared the car was just a base model with the smallest tires available. It's a Nissan Versa!

Finally got the police report today. Has witness testimony all in my favor but no names! I was too f*cked up that night with the concussion and forgot to get all the witness info. Hell, I didn't even remember to get her insurance info!

I guess now that my insurance company has this report, they can finally move things forward. The policy number on the report for the other driver is what they gave me weeks ago that came up as nothing! I think the cop wrote her PA license number there instead of her insurance policy number. Anyway, her vehicle was a lease so she has to have some kind of insurance. My company can do the foot work now! I just want to get my truck to Toyota to be looked at. I'm not taking it to any mom and pop shop as I want genuine parts if it can be fixed. I want people working on this who work on these vehicles every day!

This concussion is pretty bad. I'm still in a fog! I have a second, older, SUV I'm driving now and tapped a pole today parking as I couldn't focus my eyes in fast enough. No damage but things are not right! Fingers crossed therapy can do some good AND the attorney can file suit for P&S! I may need to just stop everything here for a bit while recovering! Don't need any further incidents at this point!

After two months of waiting, I finally got the okay to get my Tacoma in for repair. The insurance adjuster for the other driver never even came out to see the truck but rather based his estimate off of what he saw in the pictures!!!! He thinks $2.650 will fix the damage!!! He also wants to use cheap ass after market parts!! I have the Toyota body shop guy on my side who says he'll help me with that issue.

Isn't it funny how the innocent constantly get screwed in this country!? There I am minding my own business, stopped in construction, and some worthless asswipe texting rear ends me and I have to forgo quality of repair! Bullshit!

SMH. Wish ya the best. I would rather use junkyard oem tacoma parts than aftermarket crap. Hope your back to 100% , now to get the Tacoma to 100%. Hopefully you are getting a rental.

I mentioned this earlier, but look into diminished value. You now cannot sell the truck at full price because it's been in an accident. Insurance should cover that cost.

Heard from the body shop today. Truck will need a complete frame as well as bed and right side repairs! They contacted her insurance company for a value and are waiting a reply. I have a feeling this is going to turn into a real fiasco! I'll be damned if I'm going to take BB at $15k for a vehicle with just 30k miles and which was pristine in condition! Fricking bitch texting...

^^ don’t take the first offer. Start shopping for trucks in similar condition and miles and screen shot and archive the sites/files. First offer is always a low ball.

My tow hitch flaps are bent up due to rocks. But i do agree with other people saying that if the tow hitch is bent down. The frame is 100% bent. there are so many bolts and structure to the tow hitch.

Body shop sent me a few photos of the frame after the bumper and hitch were removed. The bend is pretty well defined. I am a little perplexed on this, however, as it seems like they can fix that. Thoughts?

They might be able to get it (sort of) straight, but it will never be as strong as an undamaged frame. That's a pretty good bend on each side.

Cut the frame right there, weld in a new cross member, custom rear tube bumper, dedicated trail rig.

Looked at a 2017 TRD Sport today that had 26k miles. They wanted $33,777 for it. I almost pulled the trigger but figured I'd better wait until I got a final word on my Tacoma. That Inferno paint code is really nice I think!

The other drivers adjuster called me today and stated they are approaching the 60% total value in which they would total the truck. She says they should know more probably next week. Most of you guys believe the frame bend will seal the deal. Attorney mentioned for me today to start pulling all records and receipts for "extras" I put on the truck. I'm going through things with a fine tooth comb and am pulling receipts for $6k worth of shit so far!

Guys, this is going to be hard to say goodbye to a great truck! I'm thinking of adding a full replacement option to my coverage. Man, that would be so awesome to be told to just go out and pick out what I want, brand new! I'm still wishing this is a dream and will wake-up soon with no issues! :)

I see a lot of Tacomas with similar damage at auction because they were totalled. Most of the time (at least with the Tacomas I see at auction) when the bumpers are bent down like that on Tacomas the frame is bent. I stay clear of rear ended Tacomas for that reason. Labor is expensive - I would be shocked if yours isn't totalled. I wouldn't even worry about it honestly.

    Hopefully you are feeling better!

Just remember, that option is extra cost. Think about how many times you might use it first and I think you'll find it's not worth it.
