Hey Gang! Long time no post, guess that's what happenes when you have zero issues with a truck for 10 years. I've got a weird one and need your help!

2012 TRD OR. Started last winter, went away, and now its back. I live in snow country so mostly use 4wd in winter. I can leave my neighborhood in 4wd, then turn it off when I hit the plowed highway, then turn it back on when I get to my work road. It's when I go to turn it back on the light blinks like it's trying but won't turn on. If I turn the truck off and restart it goes right into 4wd. It also will do this trying to turn 4wd off. Checked all the fuses and they are fine.
The other day I turn the the truck to aux to charge my cell phone. It was parked in 4wd and the light was blinking like it was trying to go back into 4wd. Since the truck was running I heard a very distinct "clicking/ticking" noise coming from under the truck up by the transfer case. Trying to determine the cause and the faulty part so I can replace it myself.

If you can’t find probes for your meter, those T-pins can be found at Wal-mart in the sewing section.
100 for less than $2.

The local NAPA wanted $70 for a full set of probes so I'll check the sewing store. If i'm brave enough I might even look in my wife's sewing box
