When is it time to take the Christmas lights down

Leave them up all year round until HOA sends a letter

Put it off until it gets closer to Christmas and then say might as well just leave em up.

 

You must think the same as my neighbors, except there's no HOA, and the township really don't give a damn about what anybody does as long as you pay your taxes...

 

Are you saying you're mad because your neighbours leave their decorations up or they're mad because you leave yours up?

 

Nah, I don't do any of the Christmas lights crap.

 

Id say somewhere after the first week of Jan, completely normal to leave on after new years

 

Lights come down any time after the first post-Christmas garbage pick-up day, but must be before the first full 5 day work-week begins.

...As the modern liturgical calendar dictates.

 

I spent 4 hours yesterday taking mine down any putting them away. That was just the front yard. The back yard was finished this afternoon.
I've also been spring cleaning and making goodwill piles in prep for a move in 2023. I need acreage.

My HOA sucks and informed residents over the Holidays they will be raising dues.

 

I usually take mine down on New Year's Day (outside lights I mean). But we've got rain in the forecast for like literally the next 7 days and I am on a business trip starting Jan 3rd, so I took the outside lights down today. I lift up the ones along the roofline because they are protected from the elements so if I take them down in between rain storms they will still be dry and taking them down takes about 5 minutes.

The inside lights? Sometime in the next 5 days!

Currently in negotiations with my 4 year old daughter about the time frame for removal.. right now it's looking like late march

 

Goats love Christmas trees. Local animal sanctuary always takes them every year.

Fake tree and all the household crap came down today. The outside lights will come down as soon as the roof is dry and the temp is over 40.
