It's true, i asked 10 grizzly Cummins owners when I was at Lowe's earlier and they all told me nobody would do construction for $8/hr like the good old days.

 

we got like a 5% COL raise a few months ago, I think after tax and my 401k takeoff I'm getting like $20 more each month. Can almost afford how much more my energy drinks cost every AM I guess

Man, what happened to that whole bill where they wanted to raise the wages for fast food workers only to $20 or so?

I dunno, last I remember I thought the push was to raise it to $15 but $15.50 is the min wage in CA now.

actually just looked it up, doesn't go up to that until the new year (2023) so maybe that did have something to do with it

 

I think if I keep doing work from home, easy jobs even, it's fair to say $50-75/hr is reasonable.

Especially if I'm not having to travel anywhere and don't need to outfit a welding truck.

I've done small, quick jobs for a quick $20, $50, or even $100 bucks.

But talking to two different people, paying customers, $50-75 seemed reasonable since I've got all the tools and stuff.

That frame I made came out to $75/hr.

For cnc plasma cutting, I'll be doing a "flat" rate so to speak based on size and thickness metal.

That's a problem for future Nelson anyway.
