Question. Bamf hanger, Deaver 402 spring under, the shackle stops at about 45 degrees and stops the spring from further articulating putting it in a W. This doesn’t seem normal or right. With the stock shackle and hanger the shackle lays all the way back and flat. I noted the archive is the same way, stops at 44 deg. Is the bamf hanger not right for the spring under? Do we need longer shackles?

Not sure if it helps, but those deaver springs I dropped off to you, ran with archive hangers with a longer shackle. I can’t remember what length off the top of my head though.

    Whole lotta stuff
Yeah bamf shackles and hangers aren’t gonna work with spring under as they leave everything in the stock location. At the very least, you’d need a longer shackle to get any articulation out of it. Best bet with mid travel spring under is gonna be with a shackle flip. I thought about going that route to hold me over until LT in the rear. Idk what shock relocation or cage you’re running but you should be able to get decent bump travel out of it for the cost. At least better than SOA or stock.

Frack. Anyone wanna buy a new bamf hanger. Lol. We’ll make longer shackles. Stock is 3.5”. I think bamf is the same. Would you say 5” or 6” to start

Not sure if anybody has ideas or not, but I’m getting damn close to jumping ship from King. 1,000 miles in I blew the IFP seal on the drivers side. 1500 miles in the seal blew on the passenger side. Now I have the coilovers and bypasses off of the truck, dumped air out of them and collapsed bypasses for storage. Both bypasses are now leaking profusely from the end caps. Has anybody ever ran into this? In my 6 years of owning king products I have never had issues like this. And it’s really odd to me that all failures have been on the reservoir end.

    Yes
could it be caused by the extreme cold you’ve had ? seals shrink when cold ?

They are in a 65 degree area and have been since removing from the truck. Also, I had kings on my truck back when I was daily driving it year round. They saw negative temps often. And aside from being super stout when that cold I never had any issues. It’s almost like my resis themselves have some kind of issue.

A bunch a cool stickers, a bada ass MetalMiller Tx Longhorns grill emblem painted Hemi Orange, JBA long tube headers with o2 sims, Diff breather mod, Red LED interior lights, Fancy head unit that plays ipod n movies, Also DIY install factory stuff like, factory cruise control, factory intermittent wipers, OME nitro struts with 886x springs and toy tec top plate, JBA high caster UCA's for better alignmnet and dey beefier too, Old Man Emu Dakar leaf springs in da rear with the gear, U bolt flipper, Ivan Stewart TRD rims with 33" K Bro 2's, some bad ass weather tech floor liners so I don't muck up my interior, an ATO shackle flipper for mo travel in da rear wit the gear, also super shiny Fox 2.0 shocks back there too, all sorts of steal armor for bouncing off of the rocks like demello sliders, AP front skid, trans skid, n transfer skid, demello gas tank skid, and a tough as nails ARB bumper with warn 8k winch, I'm sure there's more
might have got some dirt or something in there and eventually tore the seal up causing the leak. All there are is Orings. Make sure you choose wisely between Buna and Viton as one of them doesn’t like extreme cold if you find yourself ever in that environment.

@906taco Don't know if this is your issue because 65* is toasty, but as Texoma mentioned, at least something to consider when rebuilding.

From Mckenzies site on a listing for a King Viton Seal kit:

    Viton Seal Kit

-King Shocks Seal Kits. Genuine factory replacement parts made from the proper materials for peak performance. Viton seals have a higher temperature range than the standard Buna seals. Not recommended for any mild performance applications, or use in extreme cold weather as these seals may "wheep" and leak. Viton seals are for extreme prerunner, play, and race applications only.-

Yup, I am aware of the viton VS buna deal. Mine are buna for sure. My concern is I’ve now had 4 blowouts with these reservoirs. Just doesn’t seem like I should have had any at this point. Like I said before, both IFP seals have gone on me once already as well with under 2k miles. Now the end caps are leaking pretty heavily.

I figured you did. I'm pretty green and rebuilding some smoothies right now so I'm jumping in here to try and learn as much as I can.
Maybe they had a bad manufacturing run of resis or IFPs? I could see in our society's current work and accountability practices, QC would take a hit.

I did that 3x now. They apparently have never had a manufacturing flaw and won’t give me the time of day on the situation. Customer service has gone to shit across the board it seems. They did however quote me new resis. I’m convinced there’s more going on here. It can’t be coincidence both front bypasses are having the exact same issues at damn near the exact same time.

Have you adjusted your nitrogen pressure on these shocks to "tune" for ride quality?

I have not. 150psi on all 6 shocks. Tuned via shims, bleed and the screws. I’ve never used pressure as a tuning method. When the front bypass IFP’s blew I hadn’t even opened the shocks yet.

Well aside from the IFP seals they are the original seals from king. Truck hasn’t been used hard enough long enough for a rebuild yet. I always get my seal kits from kartek. Never had a problem.
