I've just given up unless it's something I know will be super ez to sell lol

Otherwise it goes in the goodwill pile, the scrap pile, or trash

    A few.
I had one of those a few weeks ago when I was selling my stock wheels & tires... "I'll give you 80% of your asking price and you can meet me half way between Fruita and Montrose to bring them to me".

I find it really easy to delete emails like that. They're not even worth getting upset over as far as I'm concerned. Chuckle, delete, move on to the next one. If they had taken the time to explain why they think they should get to buy it for $13k I'd take similar time in considering the offer and responding. Sometimes I'll say "I'll take that offer next week if I haven't gotten a better one by then." If they can't even be bothered to form a complete sentence, though... shrug.

I get that other people thing about it differently, though.

I was talking with some friends about this the other day. There was something I was looking at and it was a little more expensive than I was in the mood to pay. It wasn't that I thought the asking price was unreasonable... it was just more than I wanted to pay for something I didn't "need".

My friends said "Just offer them $200 less, they probably inflated the asking price because they expect to be offered less anyway."

I don't like haggling, but lots of people expect it as part of the deal. In some parts of the world, it would be a faux pas to not haggle--even if the price is fair. Some people feel compelled to "win", some just feel compelled to play the game.

Depending on what I'm selling, I'll go with either the "ask high and take OBO" strategy or the "price it to move and ignore offers" strategy. Or the "take it to Goodwill" strategy (which I guess would be "take it to CarMax" in your case).

Yep. Two cancelled flights on Sunday/Christmas and since I expected things to not get better going into the week, I scrapped the family trip. We were gathering our things after going through the checkpoint when the first flight got cancelled. I knew we were in trouble at that point. They couldn't get us to our preferred airport for two days, so I checked at neighboring airports. Got seats on one of those but had nine hours to kill, so went home. The second one was looking promising, but what the app or website never tells you is that they don't have a full crew... and they never came up with one. Decided to cut my loses (which were bad since it was a week-long trip using an Airbnb; never thought to read their cancellation policy) and not subject myself and kids to another day of flight roulette. Looking at how things played out in the following days, I made a good call.

The bags made it to the original destination. Humans at the airport baggage claim departments are not answering the phones, and voicemail left has not been actioned. I'm thinking weeks before I'll see them, if at all.

I wonder how that "not related to weather" clause will play out when the weather is fine today but the system is still tangled from last week's weather.

About a foot here too. County road isn't plowed yet. If I could get the car up the top of the driveway she'd do great. Tundra of course no issues

Thanks for the suggestion. I was in communication with the host the whole time. They did not offer a better refund. In fact, they had to review the cancellation policy because they never had someone cancel on them. I planned to submit the cancellation unless the host had a better suggestion (it's my first time using Airbnb, so I didn't know what to expect), which they did not. They offered me a discount in the future if I booked with them again, so that was kind of them.
