This is correct. Has anyone been recently? The last time I went was a few years ago and it was super rutted out.

It's hard to pick a day/trail that makes everyone happy. And, working around the holidays just adds to the confusion.

I went to Hurricane a couple weeks ago after a bunch of rains. It wasn’t terrible. One spot gave me the pucker factor, but I was also solo and probably was going in the “wrong” direction which made it tougher.

I have a winch, straps and all the normal recovery gear too. I'm absolutely up for a challenging trail.

I went to Big Frog Loop today. We had a great day!

A late start had us there a little before noon. We drove up to the loop, then turned east. 40 minutes later, ended up at Jacks River Fields campground - a great place for a late lunch! It is primitive campground, which I plan to go back to and camp.

Given the time, and where we were in the loop, we headed back the way we came. At the turnoff, we then went west to Lake Conasauga (about 30 minutes.) The campgrounds were closed, and the inlets of the lake were frozen (OK, had some ice on them...) Since the temperature was starting to drop, we decided to head to town for dinner in Elijay.

All in all a great day! We saw about a dozen people/vehicles, and the trail was very passable. There were a couple of spots of frozen ground, and a bit of mud - a thin layer on top, caused from melting snow/ice.

The loop road will be closed from January to March, so in April (or so) I would like to take 2 days to ride the entire loop, and camp.

Wish we could have gotten more pictures/videos of today's trip, I had to call it a bit early but I'd say it was awesome being out there with @banditcamp !PXL_20221230_175004268.jpg

Yeah today was a good trip. We wheeled in some muddy ice, found some nice camping spots, a few decent wheeling spots, and saw some waterfalls to hike too. On the not so good news on the way home my wife called me. She was getting iron infusion today. During that she started having contractions (the baby is due late January early February) so they sent her over to the hospital to get checked out. We just got home from there. I guess I won't be going on the trip Sunday. I need to stay closer to home in case there is more issues.

We went to Bull Mountain. It's right outside of Dahlonega. There is a lot of trails up there. I've been looking at the map and we only touched a couple of them. It was super foggy at the top of the mountain. We went through some ruts that were completely frozen over.

Did a last minute day with some buds to Blueridge for lunch and beers and then hit Cashes Valley which is always fun but never a challenge, super short too
