Man, I watched the last bit of the 2nd period and the 3rd period of the Leafs/Stars game after the Pens game ended. Obviously both teams are solid this year but Murray looked locked in. That was very similar to how he looked in his Cup years in Pittsburgh. When his head is right, he's a heck of a goalie. I love to see it. I hope he keeps it up. Toronto is banged up on D too but he made some big time saves. I hated to see Robertson's streak end but was glad Mitch kept his going. And those were 2 of my fav goalies, so I was very conflicted lol.

Great to see Letang back. I'll never fully understand that issue that he has. I know that he had something with his heart, but I'm glad he is still able to come back now twice and still play. That was a nice home and home against the Sabres. Sabres are going to be solid. Nice to see them coming around again.

Canes are so annoying. We play them tight but when you slip up, they make you pay. It's tough. They are better than I expected them to be, now after seeing them a few times.

They seem like the better team right now. Every game goes down to the wire but they find a way to beat the Pens. That overtime was so disappointing. I barely settled back into the couch and it was over. Face off losses seem to be one reason why, that and Jordan Stall deciding to haunt his old team. O'Connor didn't help himself with the penalty he took.

Ya you are right. And I love Staal, always have. But in general, I think Canes just play a tight, discipline game and they work hard. We slipped up a couple times and paid the price and that was it. They are a good team. If we somehow met in a playoff series, it would be good. Odds are they would win, as they are just so consistent in their game, but if we are opportunistic, maybe rattle their goalies a bit etc we could still steal a series win. But regardless, it's cool seeing these last couple games with them be so close.

For sure. Pretty embarrassing effort in both games since. Nice start last night but then got worked for 40mins. Ridiculous to let a team crawl back and then ice the game away in OT. I won't be shocked if we get smoked tomorrow too. Even when Pens are playing well, the young, fast teams seem to give them trouble.

I told my wife, it's likely because they are an old team. They came out like gangbusters in the first, then petered their way home. This may not bode well for the Spring games and if they make the playoffs. I would like to see Smith play. Too bad Poulin is on leave. he could be playing instead of O'Connor.

Ya I go back and forth on the age thing. The core 3 are "old" but they are playing well. Carter and Petry are the other "old" players and I think they contribute. I love Carter but I would not have re-signed him, however. And calling up Smith, I thought we were going to see him. Sulli likes Friedman though, which I do too. But I think a lot of people want to see Ty Smith get a shot. Supposedly word is that they are a bit worried about some parts of his defensive game. So I'm not sure what to think, seeing as how we have been giving up a lot of chances/goals lately. At least POJ has sort of asserted himself again. Seemed like he was falling out of favor and now he looks really good. I still like this roster, overall. I think they can win but I totally see the angle of being a bit worried about the team being older.

100% agree with this video , Canucks totally fucked up when they extended Miller last year and now cannot afford to do the same with 200' team guy / leading scorer / captain / non-douche Bo Horvat

I hope they trade Miller before his NTC kicks in and somehow retain Horvat
