I just want to say thank you to everyone who contributes to this forum.

One [big] reason I got a Taco was b/c of all the resources available here.

Today I changed the oil in my truck - done it before, no big deal but I knew what size socket I needed and the torque specs for the drain plug with ease.

    Then came the second task:
I have long wanted to remove the rear jump seats and head rests b/c ain't no one gonna sit back there, they were in the way of my dog platform, a waste of space, etc. . .

Like most things, I tend to research/read/research before I commit. I had read multiple threads on the rear seat delete procedure along with all the mistakes made along the way. . .

I got the seats out, the belt buckles out, the center console out - no problem; I was gonna stop and do the headrests later b/c I had read it was a PITA but I had some extra time so I started down that path.

I was careful and didn't pull on the fabric parts of the rear panel, I slowly popped the plastic clips, one by one [full disclosure - I own a set of panel pullers and use them to help] and got enough room to unbolt the headrests and get them outta there, without dropping a bolt or a socket or anything else behind the panel; nor did I break any of the clips :)

A few times it got dicey, I was close to loosing a piece or breaking something and I remembered the people who said they rushed and XXX bad thing happened so I slowed down, took a breath and backed off a bit. I even put all the bolts back in the holes they came out of in case I wanna put it all back in one day.

I felt great, like I had won at something finally!
Never ever have auto projects gone so smoothly for me.

Again, I am extremely thankful to everyone who contributes to this forum.

Here is a photo of the end result:

Awesome! My first oil change was via help from a Honda forum. I come here for all my truck issues and more. FYI, its not that hard to work on our trucks. I used to be intimidated but not so much after being on this forum.

Working on the truck is easier than my Honda's [but back then resources were limited] and way way easier than my BMW for sure!

Nice job! There's a great group of folks on here willing to help, you just have to sift through some questionable suggestions at times. There's also something to be said for having a truck with such a support and aftermarket following. I owned a T-100 for 17 years and they didn't sell a lot of those. It was sometimes difficult finding information on repairs or even replacement parts.
Yes, the Tacoma community is a good one.

Support and aftermarket part availability were definitely considered when I was looking at getting a truck.
