I found that a slight lift and wheels designed for the Toyota was a good choice. Had it set up since 2018 I guess. IMG_2.jpg

the "type of lift" wont matter. truth is lift doesnt matter at all for tire size, especially not in this application (non-drop-bracket lift)
the ole' "one inch of lift = one inch in tire size" is kind of a myth and really is only applicable to those who are never going to articulate their suspension and if it rubs, they dont really care.

to be honest your on the cusp of "it might work, or youll never get the alignment numbers you want"

To try to calculate out how much/little rub youll have, based on someone else's experience and specs, will be incredibly hard and you'll pretty much just go around in circles (like most members looking for information lol)

    the truth:
You wont know until you send it.

I can tell you, it will rub.
    how much? fuck idk. some?

will you have clearance away from the UCA w/ some 1.25" spacers? yeah, id think so.
but an aftermarket UCA isnt the solution for that particular problem (although by design some do indeed offer more... or less clearance)

Me think so too. None of the numbers match up for this.

I found that if I post relevant information in the correct threads, it tends to add content that others may utilize for their builds.

Thanks Moto, I appreciate the insight. No matter how many times I've been through the 50+ pages of this thread, there will always be some head scratching. Trial and error it is!

Anyone with a 6" lift on this tire size??

I like my Cooper XLTs. Would like to lift it beyond my 3".

Cool. I was looking for examples of someone using a similar set up. I am just waiting on the 5160's and final tire selection.
    6112/5160’s (top clip both sides)
3” leaf pack in the rear
Spc UCA’s (set to max caste

How is it all still working out for you?

I have what you are running along with Icon RXT leaf packs.
I didn't know if the 6112's up front would be enough for a 285/75/17 tire set up.
    I have SCS F5 wheels in 17x8.5" 4.30" -10mm.
I also have Durobumps F/F with Durobumps flip kit.
    Some extended rear brake lines.

I am still just trying to figure out how much I would need to cut with all my selections. I am down to do an aggressive CMC and fold over pinch welds and cut fender liners. I just don't want to cut much in the way of external fender stuff. I have a 2002 4Runner that I have built up w/ 35's and full armor. I want to keep this one fairly nice. I might not stick with that very long and end up going full potato with front and rear bumpers again. For now, all I have besides the lift coming is my RCI sliders, and RCI full steel skids. I like the size and proportions of the 285/75/17 because it looks like just about the largest size you can go without having to cut painted fenders and whatnot. I am hoping the size SCS F5's I picked will make be a good size that allows for clearance from suspension and body through the suspension cycle and, not so much that it rubs the top of the fenders. I had been considering 285/70/17, 255/80/17 & the 285/75/17 tire options, but I am attracted to this one the most.

Relevant info: my tire upgrade was to LT 265/70R17. My shocks are blistein with slight lift set.

Really, wow…who would has guessed they weren’t 285/75/17’s since that’s the topic of this thread and they looked tiny. It seems special though…must be the local water.

Planning on a 2.5 inch lift... Seems that 285/75's will with with trimming and a body mount cut. I tend to wheel my truck a lot of being stock, anything else i should need to do? Preferred wheel offset?

So is the CMC necessary for the 285/75R17? I thought that was for 35” and up‍?
