Who likes their stakes well done? Changed out the castle nut and end plate while I was changing from a CTR to a B5 SOPMOD stock

What’s the point of a stake if it’s not well done? Those look half assed…

Metal is moved into the castle nut enough to were it can’t rotate and back off. I don’t know what more can be done

Yeah I’m not following here. They look just like how I stake castle nuts. I honestly don’t understand how that could be better

now that I don’t have beer goggles on I take back my previous statement. At first glance last night I thought it looked like a superficial center punch without moving any metal to block the castle nut but taking a second glance that was clearly incorrect. Looks good!

    carry on…:anonymous:

You need to get a square punch to stake it.....

Stopped by a new little shop in town for an oops kit. I learned there is a guy in town that has his license and is manufacturing AR’s. From what I understood he does all the machining for the uppers, lowers, and makes the handguards. I looked over one of his assembled rifles and it appeared to be nice quality. All Milspec but I couldn’t see who made the Barrell. He does the cerakote work himself as well. Nice to see a guy making a go of it I hope he does well.

I ran an ultra duty LPK in my 13.7 really like the maritime bolt catch.

Pick up a spare charging handle too those are very well priced right now for an excellent CH

I got one of the super duties for Christmas . Ordered ODG they sent black so I reordered the charging handle at sale price and will return the wrong one. Ordered a Geiselle reciever extension also. I may go ahead and order a couple of the bolt catches

Ordered 2. I thought about ordering another charging handle also but I’ll wait and make sure I like the one I already ordered first.

Looking for some advice on tuning.

I’m running a 10.5 in DI upper with a flow through suppressor. I would like to install an adjustable gas block so hit me with your recommendations for that.

I have also been looking at the Geissele super 42 H3 spring and buffer but sounds like it’s not worth the price tag and I can go with Sprinco. Their website recommends starting off with an adjustable gas block before playing with buffer springs and weights. Looks like my ejection pattern is around the 3 o’clock position, sprinco recommends tuning to get ejection to 4 o’clock.

my rifle runs well 90% of the time, every now and then it seems to have trouble stripping a round from the magazine. Flow through suppressor helps with less blowback and fouling, and I’ve noticed better cycling with cherry balmz grease

Honestly on my 5.56 I just run non adjustable gas blocks. Non of them are overgassed enough to add one. Even my BCM 11.5 in have the Geissele super 42 h3 combo in that one.(if/when I sbr this one I'll change it to Vltor A5/sprinco) My 13.7 Sons of Liberty is better tuned from the factory and less gassy by nature but in it I've got an Vltor A5/sprinco set up in it with A2 buffer weight(this is my favorite buffer set up) super soft feeling recoil and no over gas issues in combo with the solgw upper

My 20 inch larue I just run H2 buffer in it with A5/sprinco combo no issues there either

As in after you shoot a round it won’t pick up the next? If so you need a lighter buffer as the current one is to heavy to cycle without more back pressure.
