didn't check laws for OP, but when I've researched them in localities I was in, had to be a serious issue, like safety.

    BUILT, not bought...
    BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH

    my 2010 DID it...my 2006 never did.

I took a SMALL flathead screwdriver and located the area of seal on the top of the front window that looked folded. Used the screwdirver to flip the seal back out so it looked as the rest of the seal does...no more whistling.

    f'ing simple.

A bunch a cool stickers, a bada ass MetalMiller Tx Longhorns grill emblem painted Hemi Orange, JBA long tube headers with o2 sims, Diff breather mod, Red LED interior lights, Fancy head unit that plays ipod n movies, Also DIY install factory stuff like, factory cruise control, factory intermittent wipers, OME nitro struts with 886x springs and toy tec top plate, JBA high caster UCA's for better alignmnet and dey beefier too, Old Man Emu Dakar leaf springs in da rear with the gear, U bolt flipper, Ivan Stewart TRD rims with 33" K Bro 2's, some bad ass weather tech floor liners so I don't muck up my interior, an ATO shackle flipper for mo travel in da rear wit the gear, also super shiny Fox 2.0 shocks back there too, all sorts of steal armor for bouncing off of the rocks like demello sliders, AP front skid, trans skid, n transfer skid, demello gas tank skid, and a tough as nails ARB bumper with warn 8k winch, I'm sure there's more
I was going to one dealer for all my stuff and was totally unsatisfied with them, so I ditched them and now taking my truck to another dealer. A little further away but the service and attitude is much better. Try another deaelership and see if you get a different result. What I have found if you go somewhere else and explain you are dissatisfied with the other guy you immediately get better service due to them wanting to impress and get your buisness over the other guy. Try it out, can't hurt.

I appreciate the ideas people have suggested however I am past all of them. I have done all the potential fixes, I HAVE pinpointed exactly what the problem is, I have done all the things at my dealer, I have contacted Toyota Corporate and I am sending my arbitration letter today. I am aware of th lemon law statutes and am heading that direction but arbitration is the last rung in that ladder. We will see how that goes. They have 40 days to arbitrate the case and then depending on the outcome either fix it or I then have to force them to buy it back through the lemon law.

I had the noise on a trip to Vegas at high speed and with strong crosswinds...

It came from my side window, not the windshield.

    Solution?

I put my air on recirculate and it quit causing the noise. The pressure of internal air venting casued the gasket to seperate enough to vibrate.

If you have the sounbd from side windows try recirculating your air.

What sucks more than these issues that new vehicles shouldn't have is people making excuses for it, accepting it and saying just do these other things to not notice it. I'm sure companies will love them for it and the quality will just keep slipping. Fucks it up for all those who expect something decent for their money. Really, how much of a soaking do people find acceptable paying what shit costs nowadays? How bout all those people who think it's OK just come by, drop off their cash & leave with a bag of dogshit instead of what they thought they were buying and accept my lame excuses for it and just go on with life. Great business model for me.

Seems to me that if you know exactly what the problem is and only a handful of Kazoo's aka Taco do it then you should be able to fix it like others have. Keep trying.

Only a few have actually posted up about it and I bet most just turn their radios up or just accept it as shitty initial quality.

Got a quick and simple fix. Got full coverage ins? Throw a brick through the damn windshield and have the whole thing replaced. Then if it leaks you only deal with ins co. or glass co. until its done right.

On the flip side is that manufactures have a 12/12 adjustment period. 1 year or 12,000 miles to do certain repairs on vehicles. It is somewhat limited but it allows the DEALER to repair things and somewhat not worry about the factory. Make sense? I.E. clutch, alignments, brakes. Look over your warranty booklet in owners manual. Plus remember and trust me I know that everything is "SURVEY" driven now. So it is an opportunity to get back at the dealer if he does not make you happy with your service. Make sure you always give e-mail address and correct phone number and if you dont receive a survey then contact the "CUSTOMER NO SERVICE" line and let them now. The factory needs to see trends in order for TSBs, Service Actions and voluntary recalls not mandated by the government. It seems like a pain for the consumer and yes it is. But honestly we have the INSURANCE industry to thank for all the garbage that we NOW have to have on our vehicles. Because they are tired of paying claims. Sorry for the rant. Good luck brother and remember to kill them with kindness. :stirthepot:

Appreciate it. I have been exceptionally nice in my dealings and have simple said ok to each new step they have directed me to. I wish people that wish to post here actually took the time to read through the thread before offering up their excuses or solutions. I am not here looking for a fix to the issue, I am simply making Toyota owners and potential Toyota owners aware of what is going on. As previously stated I want a product I can stand behind and be proud of and work with a company that does business the right way. We have choices in what we buy and as an American buying a non-american car I did so under the belief that it was the best product for my money. I expect products I purchase to work as advertised and when they don't I demand the situation be made right. Now certainly many minor things may occure with a vehicle that are easily repaired and by all rights taking it to the dealer for a loose bolt is a little excessive. This is not minor. Its not a little squeek its not any other part but the windshield molding. That IS what it is. Toyota has had this problem for about 8 years and continues to have it I say that is a HUGE problem and if you don't agree that's fine no need to post you can go drive around with your whistling windshields and squeeky blower motors and weak rear leaf springs and on and on and live in ignorance. But for people who care about what they buy and take pride in their equipment this is not acceptable to me and if one person reads this thread and buys a Nissan because of it well Toyota has only themselves to blame. I am still hopeful it will be resolved and I can come back here and report that Toyota made it right but as of now they are being very irresponsible as a manufacturer.

A family member turned in a BMW 740IL for lemon law a few years ago. Stupid computer would beep that the gas cap was loose. They tried unsuccessfully many times to fix it (replaced computers/gas tank/etc) & couldn't figure it out; so handed over a fat check.

I have same sound issue as video. Only happened once so far since I am hardly ever on the hwy. Was @ 80-85mph. Was such an odd sound I initially thought the radio was the source.

A quick test you can do if you have the noise is to put a piece of tape over the molding covering the molding and the top of the windshield if in fact it is a molding issue the noise wont occur.

Lemon Law will not work here. Not a SAFETY CONCERN. I sat on a board that decided cases in GA. It really has to be major for them to do it now and then if they agree they might trade you into something newer or give you a pro-rated value. Just be patient and call everyday if you can. Just go up the chain as high as possible with corp. I understand your frustration with the COMPANY and yes I did read and totally understand where your coming from. I do this for a living and i'm just trying to help a brother out.

Ya that's total BS, they should fix it. Now. Lately Toyota is making one mistake after another. You'd think they would be on a mission to make all their customers happy, within reason. The OP has a reasonable request but Toyota is being unreasonable. Do we really spend thousands on "Toyota quality" for this kind of crap? Makes me wonder sometimes...

Lemon Laws very per state, and most have nothing to do with safety, only that the car has had the same issue X number of times without remedy. I would open a case with the state, you can get some government assistance on this.

I'm not giving up on them yet and although frustrating I also understand they need to protect themselves from people who do take advantage of the warranty. My hope is still that it will be resolved and I can move into happy customer status and start my mods:D
