    Beautiful weather today to be outside playing. My buddy & I cut down 3 dead trees here on my property. Then cut, split & stacked 4 truckloads of firewood. Tomorrow if the rain holds of we're gonna cut some red oak slabs with my Alaskan chainsaw mill. I want to make myself a live edge mantle.

    I hate to hear that. Mine aren't too bad. I've actually got new rear shocks I need to get installed once it gets warmed up. Tocikos replacing 5100's with over 100K miles on them.

    Sorry to hear about the truck… that’s a tough one. I’m not sure about the comparability… but I have the stock shocks and UCA’s sitting in my basement that are practically new. Maybe the shocks will mount up? Not sure if will fit, but I’m sure someone on here will have the knowledge to help. Let me know how you make out and what you think…

    3rd gen TRD OR suspension
    That guy did the 'Safety-Cap' installation about 2 years ago. I found about 6 months after he did the work the lower radius rod mount bolt kept getting loose, when I removed it I found that he slotted the bolt hole because he didn't properly locate the repair sleeve. I wouldn't take anything there ever again.
    Unfortunately, it is. I knew that it was getting bad, just not THAT bad.

    My thoughts exactly. I will work even harder to make this year more productive and happy. Hopefully all of last year's trials and tribulations are a fading speck in the rear view mirror.

    Thanks, Brian. I was looking at those. If I can't get some of the OEM shock mounts, something like this is the way forward. I can fabricate something similar at my work, after hours. The guy that manages the shop is a gear head as well, we get along great and he has given me free range to do whatever I want.

    Outboard the rear shocks is the "simplest" plan to go forward. I can use this as the excuse to finally buy a decent Miller or Hobart MIG machine. Long term plan will be either a frame swap or finding a clean 2wd 4runner in FL where my brother lives and use my rig as the donor vehicle to convert to 4wd. Best plan will be to get Dave to unload the 80 series to me!

    That's what I figured. Hopefully you won't run into much issue during the surgery. Best of luck to you with that, by the way. I'd love to see pictures of the process when you end up doing it, too. At least it's a viable option for you as well and you can continue driving the rig!
