Wait, your DC is a Prerunner?

    It'll be easier.

Nah my xtra cab was a prerunner. The dc is 4x4. Other than having to finagle around the cv axles is there anything else to worry about? I thought I read something about dc being a bit different but maybe I’m wrong

    No.

Just that the area to fish out the starter from is smaller with a 4x4 auto; nothing to do with a regular cab, access, or double.

I got it out through the wheel well; after unbolting, I pull it back towards the rear a few inches and pitch it downward, then push it up and out over the passenger wheel.

You'll want to undo the bracket that holds your brake line that's along the frame.

    Yeah I missed that part.

A slow crank wouldn't point to a starter but more like a "weak" connection or dying battery.

Do this first before pulling the starter. You only pull and fix a starter if you get a click but no crank symptom @Nicklovin

More like a longer crank, I can hear it whirring around longer before grabbing. I'll check the battery tomorrow for the heck of it but should be good.

Sweet, I'll give that a try. I snaked it out of the bottom on my last taco, what a pain in the ass that was haha. This sounds much better

    You're not hearing me

It's easier on a Prerunner than it is on a 4x4 auto. If it was a pain in the ass on an easy setup well...just be patient.

Yeaaa sorry if that wasn't clear. I hear ya, I know it'll be harder. Last time was mostly a pain as a I mudded the starter to death in the desert, got towed back, spent a few hours learning how to swap it, swapped the reman in, had it fail 2 days later, then redid the job again :goingcrazy:

Fun times, I'll be more patient this time :D:p
