'04 Tacoma alignment problem

I have a 2004 Tacoma Extended Cab. I just had new tires installed and an alignment to go with it. After only 1600 miles I can see the tires wearing on the inside of the fronts. When I'm standing in front of the truck with the wheels centered, the front tires also look like they are toed out, not in. Could this be the problem? Could it also be the camber? Does my model need a 4-wheel or 2-wheel alignment?

i agree with chris...........take it back..........sounds as if they got lazy while doing your alignment!

 

I agree with ^^^^chris4X4,tacomaman06^^^^^ camber and toe can cause that kind of wear and your truck should have a two wheel alignment.

 

Thanks for all of your input. I know I should take it back. I'm concerned that if they couldn't get it right the first time, how are they going to get it right the second time. And once the tires start to wear unevenly, you can't stop it from wearing that way. There's no way to tell if they corrected it.

 

it sucks that they didnt do it right the first time..........but......tell them to give you a copy of the alignment printout this time around. as far as the tires wearing the way they are.........go ahead and rotate them, and if its still messed up.....you'll be able to tell....then they may be buying you a set of tires, since its their fault they didnt get it right in the first place.

 

o4 ext cab is doing the same thing i had it aligned and then i rotated the tires it still pulls to the left but i havent drove it enough to noticed any tire wear yet. then i added a 3 inch lift and it diddnt pull at all but your soppose to get an alignment with a lift. and now it pulls to the left again. i will need some new tires about july next year so i will just deal with it for right now

 

I had the same problem with my '04 DC, I took it to a garage twice and they couldn't align it (after the lift), in fact it was so bad (after they tried) I had to dive into it myself. What I found is three of the four cam adjusters were frozen (rusted solid) to the innner sleeve of the lower control arm bushings. Additionally one of the tie rod end jam nuts was galled to the tie rod...and couldn't be adjusted. I ended up replacing all four bushings, cam adjusters, tie rod ends and greasing the heck out of everything. It's perfect now. Drives like a new truck! ...Now why the garage couldn't figure that out...I guess we'll never know....

 

Well I did go back and they rechecked the alignment. They said it was "in the green", but readjusted the wheels to toe in slightly more because of the wear. It still looks like it is toed out slightly.

Does anyone know the toe in specs for my Tacoma ('04 extended cab with larger oem tires)?

 

should be.........but the damn stealerships charge you for a 4 wheel alignment!

well i would take it back to recheck the alignment , it can also be your front shocks being worn out depending on ur milage, if ur tires are wearing on the inside u can remount ur tires and put the inside tire facing out so they would wear on the other side

 

im having the same problem after 3 inch lift how much did the alignment pats you needed cost?
