Oil under my engine block.

    I noticed some kind of residue or oil around the bottom of my engine block the other day when installing my diff drop. It wasn't enough for it to be dripping or anything but wtf? I asked a guy the other day and he said it might just be some lubricants from the factory but it looked brown in color. Wtf is going on? Is this normal?:confused:

    I change my own oil every 3,000 miles in my garage. I have spilled little here and there and was also thinking of that same thing. It might just be excess from previous spills. I don't know for sure though.:(

    Hey chris I need to replace my old air filter. Whats this I keep hearing about a secondary air filter for our trucks? I was looking at getting a K&N replacement filter, part #

    Keep the secondary filter in. I took mine out to test to see if there was a differance, and there isnt. It made NO impact on the performance. Personally, K&N filters like shit. I use a OEM filter. Check this out:

    I know your problem....

    I took mine into the dealer for the same problem and their initial assesment was that the powersteering was leaking, so they replaced the pump.

    2nd visit.... Same leak, they told me that the lines were cross threaded and were leaking.

    3rd time, same leak.....I'm getting pissed now and take it to a different dealer who tells me that its actually my timing cover is causing the leak. They replace it and reseal the cover and I've had no problems since.

    Have the dealer look into your timing cover.;)
