Slip in, slip out.
My feet were hurting pretty good today.

 

I've been adjusting to some "new" boots at work and my feet are hating me right now. I say "new" because they were the ones I had when I worked at the manufacturing plant that required metatarsal and steel toes. Well, my cheap ass doesn't want to buy new work boots so I just brought them to work. Still look almost brand new and even had a metal chip still stuck in it, lol. They're very good boots, but my last work shoes were basically glorified sneakers with steel toes. However being cloth I burned them up quickly stick welding various stuff around the facility.

I also knelled wrong on some bar grating the other day and my left knee cap is on fire and sore.

This shit sucks, I'm only 33 years old, but I'm already feeling it. Yes, laugh all you want. I know it doesn't get any better either.

 

I’m not laughing. I can say for sure it will get worse.

 

Unfortunately the career path I took is hard on the body, but it provides good pay and I'm not in college debt. Everything comes with its price it seems.

Some day I might get into a managers position, but right now I'll fix shit and go home. I haven't quite hit that calm down stage yet though.

 

I'm getting a bit spoiled with my new position letting me wear sneakers/close toed shoes since I'm not in the shop often. I definitely beat the crap outta myself in the last three years though, and I've been watching the value of a working body go up faster than my future paychecks are.

 

I've caught the same bad habit that my dad had which was work your way up as quick s possible and make as much money as you can. I'll probably keep it up for a while and get into that office chair. Although the guys that go from techs to managers tend to start health problems right off the bat. I can't win
