Hi, I'm an old woman who recently bought an old (96) Tacoma.
Everything about me is old except joining Tacoma World.

As a kid, I got to hang out with the airplane mechanics while my
mother taught pilots during the second world war. She encouraged
me to learn how things work and to use tools, and I feel fortunate
to have grown up to be an engineer.

I do most of my own servicing, but find it difficult to obtain
needed information, which is why I joined Tacoma World.

Anyway, I'm glad to meet y'all!

    Sincerely,

    -- Lea

    Welcome to TacomaWorld, Leandra!

If there is any questions you have, we will do our best to get them answered! While my experince doesn't encompass the 1st Generation Tacomas (95-04'), I will do my best.

    Cheers!

    Hi Lea,

Welcome!! I'm still fairly new here also but not new to Tacomas. I used to own a 96 several years ago (99-04) and loved it. I work on my own stuff also and I have a bunch of write-ups on how to do things on that 96. Stuff like water pump, steering rack bushings, ebrake adjustment, clutch pedal bushing, lift kits, oxygen sensor & blinker conversion. You can find them here: http://www.lieblweb.com/TechLinks/TechLinks.html I own a 2007 now and am having fun with it!!

I consider myself ancient also. Next month I'll be celebrating my 11th anniversary of my 29th birthday. My body reminds me that I'm ancient but I refuse to let my *mind* convince me that I am. :D

Beverly, you and i have already gone over this... thats the perfect age for me. I like it when the woman has a few years on me. We've already come to the conclusion that our trucks would be dating if you didnt live so far away ;)

I dont think i have seen a bull bar with black and chrome before. I'm definately interested to see how it looks. I'm glad you went with black though. How do you like it now that its mounted?

The black bull bars (westin) still have some chrome. I think it's the skid plate that's chrome. You'll have to forgive me, I don't know all the proper "terms" when it comes to vehicles and accessories!
