I can gift a child here in CO a pistol at 18 and can open carry that weapon until 21. It causes more issues than it helps though. I am not a fan of OC.

Sounds like respect is given if earned. My kinda place. We were chatting about it tonight. Probably just find a nice plot of land in TN and buy it this year.

I ended up getting one rounded in the back, fits right in the corner and less wasted space.

Damn. What is it with microwaves this past week? Ours just shit the bed and we started looking at new ones.

This is as consistent as pizza landing cheese side down if dropped. They never line up.

    Our microwave quit last year.
It was probably 20 years old.

Still not sure I like the new one.
I still haven’t figured out how to get it to switch from am to pm.

So I just set it to the 24 hour scale:thumbsup:
    Problem solved.

I wouldn’t mind going back to a nice counter microwave. We have a brand new one in the crawl space under the house.

We have some plans to just take out the built in one, put more cabinet space in, and use a drawer unit that is to our liking. We want a convection unit but they seem to all come 30” wide.

Don’t buy a whirlpool unless you like the sound of a door slamming shut.
The door latch is so strong that you have to push really hard to get it to close.
Which makes it slam everthime you shut it. That’s a super sweet way to be woken up in the morning.

I figured out a trick to make it close quietly, but no one else around here seems to care.
They just slam it shut. I bet this one doesn’t last 5 years. It’s taking a beating.

We have a Whirlpool now that broke. You aren’t kidding either about the door (and the item that broke).

I believe we will change the kitchen a bit.

See the space next to the microwave and oven? We are probably going to add another 36” cabinet right there with a cabinet convection oven/microwave. Take the current location for the microwave and just add more cabinet space. I never thought we would fill up our kitchen cabinets due to the size. Well…my queen sure the hell did.

I got 12 years out of my first one, replaced it with the same exact model which only lasted 5.

You've got the same setup as my parents, with the oven built into the cabinets and microwave directly above it. Our old house had a similar setup, except the microwave and oven were combined into the same unit, and I have a feeling that if one broke they would both have to be replaced together.

Our old house had a downdraft vented cooktop with an open space above it, which looked kind of cheap compared to a stove with a vent or a microwave above it, but our oven in that house was also nicer. The oven in the old house had a convection function, and it was all of the appliances were GE Profile while the appliances in this house are just plain GE.

And this is the flickering light that my dad thought was an electrical fire on Sunday night; I performed a bit of percussive maintenance and got it to stay on...

I think my dad's going to replace it. A couple of our neighbors have had their built-in microwaves blow up (no damage to house), so I think they just want it gone...

I really like this house! Note how all three bathrooms are clustered together, and how the kitchen and laundry room are also close together, so the water bill wouldn't be particularly horrific; I can't afford anything in Bucks County right now, but this is likely the type of house I'll end up buying when I can afford a down payment (A rancher, with at least 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, of less than 2,000 square feet). If I ever end up being able to afford a home that's close to a million dollars, or more, I'm not really going to give a shit about how much extra it's going to cost when I flush a toilet, wash my hands, or take a shower; I honestly care more about energy costs and how hard it is to efficiently cool the home in the summer and heat it in the winter...

I'm guessing that this plan is no newer than the 1980s, but it is incredibly well laid out. You will notice that it has a walk-in closet for the master bedroom, a laundry room on the main level instead of the basement, a decent-sized kitchen, and a huge family room with a fireplace!
