2022 Trail Edition Fog lights

Hey guys,

Wondering if I could please get some recommendations on fog light for my 2022 Trail edition? I'm looking at the Baja design squadron since they seem to be well reviewed but I'm not 100% sure if they fit since my fog light housing on the truck isn't the same as all other 3rd gen tacomas?

Go with the Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro SAR fog kit for the Tacoma.

 

And don’t @ me BD. It’s not a comparison to jump in here with your non cutoff lights for use as a fog. Your lights have a good use case and that is off road like I had on my XR650R.

I ended up going with these. Same as the TRD Pro to keep them within the Law.

 

If only the people that constantly run these lights on the street could read this. I'm interested in the DD SS1 SAE version.

 

You should check out our New Generation SAE Squadron that will be released next year. This features a projector-style light that is street-legal rated and features a very sharp cutoff that is designed to be used on the street. This will be a great Diode competitor to there street legal light they offer. @JasonLee

It may be hard since your truck did not come with factory fog lights. I would get under the bumper and see if you have the mounting locations and the fog light plugs tucked anywhere. I will link the instructions as well to reference.

^The new cut offs look MUCH better. Pattern width seems pretty forward and not very wide, much like the new Morimoto fogs.

 

You going to tell me I bought my Squadrons too soon??

I will say I'm plenty happy with the set I recently purchased. Far better than the OEM set. Nobody has flashed me. Yet.

 

If they are SAE squadrons Baja is doing an exchange program.

 

I was just blinded by someone’s orange flood lights mounted where their fogs should be.

 

Non dot compliant @Baja Designs and high beams all day. Cheers!

 

They are indeed the SAE model. I'll be looking into the exchange when the new set is released.

Thanks for all the replys, definitely some good information and lots I didnt know about fog lights...

My question now is since I dont have factory fog lights and I dont see any plug and play harness available near where the fog lights would go, would I then need a wiring harness of some sorts? Looks like I would also need to get new plastic cover for cosmetic since I would have to remove the plastic cover cap...
