2.5" lift, all new chinese light plastics, led lights here and there... want to make a daily "overlander" modeled after "overland under budget"..
They predominantly eat the spruce up here...they chew the top layer of bark away and eat the soft layer underneath. Ive trapped quite a few of them around here right where they feed. Some will eat the porkies, i just collect the quill. A nice handful can be worth 100 bucks or so...the longer the better. Natives use them for regalia.

To add....they will eat ur out house too, some suspect they smell the minerals in the urine.

I never saw them around much in oregon either....but if id set for coon, id always catch a couple...same with opossum but the fur from opossum can be processed so not such a bad thing.

I don’t know who are bigger dicks: horses or cats… this dick spent all weekend rubbing on my blind. Rounded up the cattle for tagging and wouldn’t get out of the holding pen. Bit me on the a** while I was trying to castrate the new steer…. Keeps kicking over the game feeders and the cross fence gates open.

I was under the impression that Porcupines were small  - this extends about 16 feet up the tree.

There are no holes like a woodpecker makes, the bark is just gouged off the tree.

Thank you, that would be super!

It isn't "important", more of a curiosity, there are plenty of trees with woodpecker holes however no other trees around are damaged this way.

    Northern Pennsylvania.

They vary a lot in size across the continent.. and yes they climb. Hard to believe they can be so destructive they way bobble around. They make some wierd noises too.

Not sure where you’re located, but bears are hibernating this time of year in my neck of the woods.

Porcupines girdle lots of trees in the winter time in the Rockies. Killed several trees on moms property in the past.

This is also a possibility, depending on how much insect activity you have. Got a game cam?

Trapping is easier in my opinion...that is unless i spot one! Here is a pic of the quill we pulled from the hound one winter up here.20191001_074715_IMG_0043.jpgi think we counted 175 from her muzzle and paw...this is only a few, the rest are in a baggy somewhere.
