Have you guys ever done the loop from sooke to jordon river? Looking on the backroad map and see fsr roads. Not sure if they still exist.

I’ve gone to the far east side of bear creek and could have gone farther

Sounds good, I live in the interior but my family lives on the island and I've wondered about doing this loop sometime when I'm visiting

There are some people that can just fall in with any crowd and have a great time regardless. I have envy for these people.

For the rest of us it's very difficult to find a group of people that you like to spend time with, and that like to spend time with you, and that you can trust to have your back while at the same time not getting themselves into too much trouble.

I've been on the island for a few years now but only recently with a capable 4x4 truck. I vowed when I bought it that it wouldn't be a pavement princess. Every scratch has been painful, but it's getting more routine now and I don't regret it... yet.

Most of my exploring has been out from Port Alberni and between Campbell River and Sayward. Mostly FSRs, but I really love the ones that go almost straight up the side of a mountain! The north island is so much nicer with the absence of gates, abundance of recreation sites, and a lot less trash dumps in the middle of the bush. I hate that most of the forests south of Campbell River (or so) are private and gated, but after seeing a lot of stupid shit (and stupid shits) out there I really can't blame them.
