Fram, really?... where have you heard this? OEM, or Wix are best choice.

Fram Ultra oil filters are very well made filters. As is the Fram Tough Guard. Many utubers have opened them up to inspect. Purolator One and Boss are also very well made filters, and all these are made in the USA. Most Wix are now made overseas, most of the XP line are made in the US, last time I checked.

The size/ shape of a filter doesn't matter, as long as it mounts correctly.

Toyota filters about 50% at 20 microns vs Fram Ultras 99% at 20 microns. Here's the chart from amsoil but Fram Ultras are half the price and also made in the USA. Case closed.

One of these days, mankind will cease to exist because everyone learned all the wrong things from youtube entertainers.
When will everyone figure out that youtube is for entertaining, not learning. That's like me saying "I watched General Hospital yesterday and I learned how to do brain surgery."

If you have the time read up on Toyota filters at Bob is the Oil Guy. I read there that Toyota is big on oil flow through the filter, vs filtration. Not that Im an expert. In any vehicle that Ive owed with a side mounted filter , I went with OEM. Never any start up rattle . Any vehicles like my son Corolla or my Accords that have vertical mounted filter, I went with Fram. Zero issues , most important advice is to change the oil, plain and simple. One last thing , its the air filter that keeps the crap out of your crankcase. Change your air filter. I do it every fall.

I see you've not been around here long. No 'case' on oil and filter arguments is ever closed. They just keep getting pounded. :deadhorse:

And posting data from 2011 is irrelevant. Lots have things have changed in the last 11 years. Microns aren't what they used to be. :p

Great news I’ll keep buying OEM, never a problem there.

2.5” OME lift, Koenig Six Shooter wheels, 275/70r17 Nokian Outpost AT, CMC, Nitro 4.88s, Greenlane aluminum sliders, CBI aluminum skid, Greenlane aluminum front bumper, Out Gear Solutions HC rear bumper, Baja SAE fogs
Wix, OEM, Supertech (believe it or not), K&N, Purolator… that’s how I would order them. I’m not a consummate expert though.
