2019 to 2021 grill swap

Hi All,

Have a 2019 sport with chrome grill. Purchased a 2021 Off-Road grille. The logo garnish does not seem to swap over. Is a new logo garnish required for the new grill?

 

You have to remove these from the old one and put them on the new one. They slide off the old one and onto the new one with ease.

 

Thanks, I’m aware of that for the sensor. My question is in regards to the clips on the old logo garnish. They are completely different from 2019 to this newer grille. I believe the part I need is: https://toyotaparts.mcgeorgetoyota.com/oem-parts/toyota-grille-emblem-front-90975a2014

 

Yeah, the garnish isn't a direct swap between the two. You can trim some of the tabs off the old one and make it work though. I did that a few years ago but don't remember exactly what I did. But I think I trimmed what didn't fit and then drilled out holes in the new grill to reuse the screws from the old garnish.

 

I can’t believe they did that, so annoying. Old one is $50, new one is $200! Must have something to do with the 360° or front camera. Appreciate the reply!

 

Me either and that's why I modified the old one. Wasn't paying 200 bucks for the new one. Verify this before you do any drilling but I think the two holes below line up with the old garnish and can be drilled out to mount it. I did this nearly 3 years ago and it's been fine.



I also used that as chance to put some headlight tint on the logo to calm the chrome down a bit.

 

Might do this, just have to trim off the clips and drill a few holes, then some screws. I'll give it a try, nothing to lose!
