I saw people walking on a lake here yesterday and questioned if the ice was still thick enough for that! Most of my snow melted over the past few days.

 

I feel this every morning when I look in the mirror....

Missed this earlier, sorry. Safety from the Bills, Damar Hamlin, made a normal tackle, got right up afterwards and within a few seconds just collapsed to the ground. Crews from the team immediately ran on field and they stayed with him until the ambulance could come on and get him going to the nearest level 1 trauma center. They said he required CPR for several minutes while on the field. They did a good job of not showing the scene directly but you could tell by the players reactions it was a really bad event. Last I read tonight was he is at UC hospital in critical condition. Scary stuff for sure.

 

Anyone hear that Ken Block died in a snowmobile accident?

PS whoever mentioned the short commute taking tolls on batteries - I may have become a victim. Truck was flatlined this morning when I went to start it. Have a jump pack, fortunately, and it's good now. But also my dashcam draws on it in parking mode, might need to check that for how that works - that might have been part of the issue.

 

Commotio cordis...blow to chest during portion of heart cycle that causes fibrillation. Hockey player Chris Pronger had it happen many years ago when struck in the chest by a slapshot...he fully recovered. It's also cause of death in many car crashes

 

It appears he was run over by his snow cat. Think of a ski resort and a smaller version of the machines they use to groom the trails. It was the tracks of the machine that ran over him and cut him up pretty bad. The neighbor put a tourniquet on his leg to stop the bleeding and he was air lifted to the hospital.
