Just hit up SCOL and hit up your local Napa. They have the belts in stock and are usually priced competitively fair.

I looked on their site. Saw they had an entire Bag C option.. with everything. Wasnt sure if they could sell me just the studs. I'll reach out, thanks!

Vividracing has them priced pretty good and they are local to me.

I could have sworn I posted up the part number on page one for the studs. Well regardless, give them a ring. They'll be more than capable of selling you just the studs by themselves for sure!

I would skip the RPM belt and just get the green fleet belt or OE suggested. The RPM belt is much more pricey last I looked and doesn't provide much deflection. With the Roush tensioner/OE maggy pulley, pulley wrap mod and OE suggested belt, my 2.7 was way way too tight. It could be slipped on at the max of the tensioner slack. It was the source of more noises for me I think. Removed the pulley wrap: 2.7 wasn't small enough to feel comfortable with how tight the belt was. I imagine RPM belt would do more potential harm. Just a thought..

Interesting, Thanks for the input. I figured the belts will be the last thing I'll have to play with.. and or the wrap like you. I'm going to go ahead set it up to where it's almost identical to @BillDaCat8.. from there I can alter it easily and interchange belts.

A 2.7 still has to potential of running the OE length belt without need for belt wrap mods or what have you. Once you start stepping down to 2.5 pulleys and lower the need for wrap mods become a little more facilitated.

The reason why the RPM belt is recommended most is because they have the highest reported durability out of all three different offerings. The standard belts are not designed to run a supercharger and last a long time and they have a high slip potential factor. This amplifies worse with smaller pulleys and lack of ribs like our 5 rib design has. Fleetrunner's offer better traction, but so far every Fleetrunner I've ever seen run has a history of cracking (not to mention stretching) quickly, jury is still out on if they are actually worth it or not. Finally the RPM is a predominantly non stretch/ high traction belt. Many of us have been running them for years and years and have put many thousands of miles on them without needing to swap them out or dealing with slip which is why so many of us run them and recommend them above anything else now. It's become (to my knowledge at least. I could be wrong) more or less a group standard. With a few outliers having to conjure up other types of belts due to pulley size. I'm looking at you @Athlaos ;) :D

I might step down to a 2.7. didn't feel like playing with belts and tensioners. I don't recall people having issues with the 2.7 involving belt slippage.

I'm not disputing you guys using the RPM belts. If I did install with a 2.5. not suggesting the RPM is not worth it. I just don't think it will match his planned particular setup because the tension is a bit much on the Roush (unless the belt is a wee longer). Perhaps with the billet piece OE tension, it would fair better. I just didn't like the amount tension I was at. I also complained of noises way back that developed with my wrap mod in (what I assume was strain on the idlers). You suggested that I spray some water or lube on each idler to narrow it down and it quieted for temporary. After I removed the wrap, it was significantly less noisy from the idler bearings.. maybe it was coincidence, but I sleep better at night and worry less that people are looking at me while my idlers are squeeking.

Edit: my bad. I see @XPOTRPR is going Steeda. Sorry. The conversation went back and forth of Roush after that. Give a shot with the RPM! Let us know if this is the sweet spot to your 2.5 setup.

yeah it got a little messy.. no worries! I'm hoping that will be the ideal setup.

That RPM belt still has me concerned. I think it’s selling point is how strong and little stretch that it has. That to me puts all the loading directly into the tensioner. Not sure if I should be as concerned about that or not….

I get ya. I'm kinda putting the faith in the reinforced Steeda + trimming the stop. Hoping that will take up that lack of stretch and hold up.

It looks like that 70.75" RPM belt may be discontinued anyway… I don't see it on Gates website anymore. RockAuto only has the non-RPM version.

I wish there was a more solid tensioner mounting system. The tensioner should be stiff, be able to take all the loading and safely provide tension to the belt. In my eyes the belt shouldn't be stretchy in an application like this and stretch shouldn't be used to provide a margin of safety. That all should be the tensioners job.

I know these thoughts are for an ideal situation and not fully realistic with the resources we have.

does anyone else here drive in an area that uses salt spray de-icer? ive noticed the last couple years not long after driving in it the pulley bearings start making noise upon cold starts. i replace my idlers annually but i thought id share that.

Well the primary function of a tensioner is to do just that. Absorb the slack of a belt and place immediate tension on a belt.

Myself and others who I don't immediately know of have been running that belt for years both on and Roush and a stock tensioner and have never run into issues because of it's far as it prematurely making bearings fail, making tensioners fail, the belt itself failing... Etc.

The only issue that occured was the studs on mine and a few others but that is more time and vibration/ harmonics related issues on the general system. Not belt/ tensioner config related whatsoever.

I found a belt for the 2.7 pulley. You have to get the belt through eBay. It is for a 1.6 diesel of some small compact car that is not offered in the US.
Robert may have added it to the first page. I'll try to find a part number for if you need, just let me know.

I buy metric bolts and studs mostly from belmetric.com I did not verify your specific studs. Good Luck.

Why were you running a pulley wrap with all of that. that is not needed? My only gripe on the fleet is having to cut them. I had one start to fray but caught it in time.
