Found these two last night at the H.E.B grocery store. The Volkswagen baja bug I've never seen before and the card was all beat up so assuming it was behind a pallet in the lounge, and it finally made it to the shelf LoL. I like the stripes.

I have about the same if not a few more...thought I'd not see any more on the shelves, but they keep popping up from time to time and I keep getting them. I placed one on a coworkers white Sport before Christmas...and gave one to my son-in-law's dad as he has a white Tacoma also. I've kept all the red and blue Tacoma's though....they are to perdy to give away.

 

Turn the card over and look at the copyright date on it

 

I didn't know about these until a co-worker put one on my desk, it looked exactly like my cement Tacoma. So cool.

I took my wife out today and we went to our Walmart to pick up a few things. While there I ran in back to check out the displays of diecasts. A young girl was filling up all the pegs with Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars after a vulture handed them to her. This guy and his wife had 2 shopping carts blocking the display. His wife was reading numbers to him off her phone while blocking the Hot Wheels and he was picking through the boxes before the girl could empty them. She was letting them do it. He was really cleaning out the Matchbox cars and had 12-15 in his cart and was moving on to the Hot Wheels.
I knew there was no point in waiting until they were done so I just stood back in the bike racks and watched them for a few minutes and left. They were there waiting for the boxes to come out. Somebody in back had to let them know. They were there with carts waiting.
I wont support these assholes at the flea markets or swap meets. Ive given up looking in the stores unless Im there for something else and even then I ask myself why bother. When I do go to swap meets ect I look for the guy just selling parts of his collection. Ill stick with auctions and yard sales and ordering on line. At least at the auctions you know these vultures will out bid you so there is some satisfaction driving the bids higher and then backing off.

I was at a kroger and some guy and his wife had the barrels of hot wheels poured out on the floor. I found one on a cardboard display and the lady said that was theirs. I was like nope. If it ain’t in your cart it is free game.

I got no beef if they want to rummage but they can’t try and dictate which ones I get.

 

That is crazy! Some people are looney. I assume all they do is strip mine every store in your area leaving nothing for anyone else. When I have found multiple Treasure Hunts, which is rare, I leave one on top of the dump bin. Hopefully that makes somebody's day. I bet these people you encountered take every single one. Sad life that to let it control them so much.

I was just digging in a "barrel" it was a pain in the A**. Was bent and open cards all over.

Whats a treasure hunt?

You never see those here.
Its not just one person doing this. More than likely its dozens.
Its fun to watch them all show up before a store opens and they are argueing or jockeying for position so they can dash through the store first. This has gone on here as long as I can remember. Its only gotten worse since the pandemic.
We have 2 major flea markets and 3 major swap meets with each hosting 3 shows a year each.
They clean our stores out so they can gouge you at those events. I always enjoy hearing them tell me this one is hard to find. They make it hard to find and instead of paying a dollar for your hot Wheels they try to stick you for $8-$10. They create the shortage and then make you pay rediculous prices if you want it bad enough. I pass.
I build my collection years ago and only buy things when I can improve what I have. It still sucks when I cant find the few things I actually look for.

 

It’s a beetle and because I use to always watch the show when I was a kid.
