I saw a ragged-out one driving around here running on a donut spare. Looked like it would be in the salvage yard soon. Definitely not the image that I think they want to project.

You mean they don't run forever and never need maintenance like a Benz?

I wonder if that is a snow dog thing? The puppy has thick poofy coat and yet the two baths I've given her, the fur seems to repel water like crazy and then she is dry incredibly quick afterwards whereas my other dog is damp for an entire afternoon.

The old ones sure did. Dunno about these though. In the early 2000s they kept getting more displacement out of the same block by increasing the bore. 2.3 -> 2.5l, pretty sure that isn’t great for head gaskets.

We tried doing the same with the Nissan VG30, obviously it can be made into the later VG33 (3.3L).... but we tried to make it into a 3.5 and the cylinder walls and avail space for the head gasket is too unstable.

My grandpa had one of these as his personal vehicle when he was stationed at Fort Huachuca in the 60s
