I installed the TVD vinyl wheel blackout kit for my 2022 TRD Sport wheels. It says in the kit instructions that the vinyl stickers don't go all the way to the edge of the wheel because they vinyl would get damaged when tires are changed, but the result is that I can see a sliver of the diamond cut alloy finish around the edge of the wheel. And this looks like crap IMO.

Anyone have any ideas on how to remedy this without permanently discoloring the wheel? It would be nice if there was some sort of brush on plastidip.

Give it a couple of years and you’ll be ready for new rims like I am. They peel. 8733B80C-A2E5-4931-91DA-53D9082FB6E6.jpg41CF88DE-9D11-482B-A064-83BDDBF91CEF.jpg

Yep, I figured that was inevitable. I regret putting the vinyl on, I guess it was good for just giving me a relatively low cost and low effort way to determine if I like the look of my wheels blacked out. I will leave the vinyl on for a little while and then will probably go plastidip or just get a different set of wheels.

I thought about plastidip but would have to sand the vinyl off. No thanks.

I did paste the Vinyl , and it looks very poor quality,.. It totally by my lack of skill. I´m thinking in a plastdip , as a temporal solution... It easy and not very expensive.. I know that if I change the tires , I have to re install the plastidip or thinking in other type of paint... I´m thinking as a temporal solution while I have money to change the wheels. but I know that it looks great in black...
