Looks cool, sounds cool with the TRD exhaust and has reusable filter.

I believe the thought process is less restriction = more air/power. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

I bought the hps silicone tube. It just gets rid of the resonator box on the stock tube. Still using the stock air filter box as it is a cold air intake already. Tube made it sound better. I felt it have me more power then when I added the exhaust. Over all. I like the setup

If anyone wants to save a couple dollars, and is local to me, I have a new (in the box) K&N drop in filter that you can pick up in LB (near LB State) for $40. It came with my K&N tube and I already have an AFE filter... just throwing it out there.

You can also cut the resonator off the stock intake for more noise too. Lol.

Here are pics of what I did to my TRD intake. Can probably do the same to stock.

That filter is there to prevent oil/fumes from escaping the engine. Seems like an absolutely ridiculous thing to me but we can probably thank California for it. None of my other cars have it and every aftermarket cone filter setup removes it. Who knows if removing it makes any noticeable difference in performance by itself, but with all the combined upgrades my intake is less restricted than stock and I'm very happy with how the truck drives. It shifts noticeably smoother and accelerates easier.

People seem to get too hung up on power numbers when it comes to any engine modification but some just make the truck feel better to drive. There are gains to be had by upgrading parts that might not show up on a dyno sheet, but you can feel them in the drivability, and that's mostly what this modification accomplishes. The truck won't magically become a racecar because of an intake upgrade and will still only pull in the amount of air it requires, but it absolutely breathes easier when you allow the air entering the engine to be less restricted and that upgrade is noticeable in how the truck feels.

Not bad! I feel like this is what I would have done before buying the K&N tube

I too appreciate a clean, well laid out underhood compartment as much as I do the cab.
I appreciate my investment and treat it accordingly.
Yes, I'm even the guy spraying the undercarriage at the car wash. Lol

That resonator looks different than the one on my 2021 Sport. Also, the intake is slightly angled leading to the Airbox...but the bellows should adjust to it.

The Toyota website tells me it doesn't fit my 2021 Sport...not sure.

    I wouldn't cut the resonator...but that's me. :)

For what it’s worth, typically vehicles are considered liabilities and not investments, because they depreciate in value. What you’re saying makes sense though, you want to prevent unnecessary depreciation on your liability.

The only exceptions are typically old, rare vehicles that appreciate in value.

TLDR; sell taco, buy landcruiser lol

True. Perhaps investment wasn't the word I was looking for. I'll call it, "My monthly payment". Lol.
Otherwise you hit the nail squarely on the head.

I like what you did have been waiting to do this but have been too lazy and too cold out to measure the tube outside diameter
Since you have done this what is the ID of the tube you used? Was it inch or metric. Nice looking clamps what kind??

I'll bite. This setup looks good, sounds good, has a place for beer and tools while cleaning the filter or tinkering under the hood, a pre-filter and a front air inlet that makes the "skewp" jealous! I dig it, but then again, I also named my truck Taco...

Holley iNTECH #223-33 (advertised dyno +13HP/+12TQ, but you can see these were months apart from test to test. I don't put much weight on these numbers)
