Oh there will be some mods all right
Were you running them how they currently are? Reason I ask is I planned to run mine like that but after research everyone says Tacomas can't run them configured like that so if everyone was wrong that's awesome. Also, free bump lol

Yeah I didn’t have any problems with the configuration they are in. Offering the frame mounts with them in case someone didn’t like the piggy back setup.

Hmmm. Interesting. You said only highway use? So you didn't really articulate or fully compress to the bump stops? Sorry for pestering with questions it's just that I really wanted to run them piggyback but after hours of research it was universal in everything/everyone saying it wouldn't work.

Hwy, fire roads, and a field was the extent of their use. 99% hwy. I didn’t run into a problem with them mounted like that.

Thinking about selling my Tacoma, if I end up keeping it, what would shipping look like to 97527?

So the 2 things that I could find (which admittedly is not much) were this guy: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/bilstein-5160-reservoir-clamp.740862/#post-27878707 and a vendor on here that sells Bilstein who I asked in PMs if you could piggyback and he said no. Obviously by the lack of info people must just go straight to the frame mount and don't even try to piggyback except for the O.P. who proved you can do it.

Yes it’s possible with patience. Both reservoirs are on the rear side of the shock body. You have to place the reservoir in the right location due to the up travel and if you have the u bolt flip. Also the reservoir needs to be slightly rotated out toward the tire so it does not make contact with u bolt flip plate. Just find a hill and go test it. That’s what it took for me with a jack, jack stands, and scotches.
