The vast majority of my impulsive decisions have been influenced by beer, cash, or women...

    And being impatient...

NONE of my impulsive decisions have resulted in anything more than a traffic ticket or a hangover though!

I think the moral of this ongoing fiasco is that I don't really give a flying fuck about Facebook's community standards...

I haven't experienced rust problems related to salt/water like you get back east, but definitely some surface rust and stuck fasteners and such.

My ex gf son needs to pull the motor from his Silverado and wants to take the front clip off to make it easier. The truck is from New York and is extremely rusty, l suggested he just take as little apart as possible because bolts are just going to break.

I can imagine that it's common to cut/break fasteners and use new ones for re-assembly.

It would be one thing if that truck had a decent body and frame but a blown engine, but that truck should have been sent to the salvage yard. There is literally nothing on it worth saving.

Agreed!!! I have at least talked him into a $1500 junkyard engine versus the 5 grand he wanted to spend on some rebuilt unit.

The bad thing is the fastners are so rusted that it will turn into another major project, certainly not something he needs.

Yeah, well you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Just sit back and wait for the appropriate time to say “Told you so”.

You all want to a glimpse into my life and up bringing.
It went like this (and more than once)

Dad: You’re fixin’ to fućk that up bigger than shit
    Me: No, I’m not
Dad: Suit yourself. Don’t ask me for help when you break it.
    Me: Ohhh Noooooo
Dad: I told you. Now you can figure out how to fix it. ON YOUR OWN.

Depending on the situation, He might help.
But he’d let us struggle for awhile.
Other times, we had to figure it out on our own. Sometimes we couldn’t and it “stayed broke”.

Ohh, those were the good times……

I tried so hard to get him to pass on this truck because it was a horrible choice. I try to let him learn from his mistakes but still help him here and there.

Don’t post anything political on there. Just keep it for pics and celebrity status.
If the engine is shot and bolts are massively rusted, that is so not worth it.

My old rusty car was… fun. Ran great, still runs great, but dealing with the small things as it aged and bolts would not come off was a PITA.

What would easily result in a month-long vacation here on TW has not caused me any trouble on Facebook, though I have got into disagreements with friends over viewpoints relating to that infamous P-word...

I've got a RealID now! My camera card came in the mail yesterday and I decided to go the DMV after my doctor's appointment; I had all of the proper documentation and was approved almost instantly.

However, it takes a while to get through the system, so my actual RealID license won't arriving in the mail for a week or two. In the meantime, I have both my still-valid license from 2019, and a paper license showing that I renewed.
