Is this kit plug and play? If yes, you will save lots of time.

Soldering 20 gauge wires was getting kind of old when building my table.

There are a few things to do, but very minor compared to building your own.

For starters, if you buy just the Langmuir Crossfire kit, you can also bundle it with a plasma cutter of your choosing (they offer a variety). Only modification needed is adapting your plasma cutter to communicate with their control box. I think they offer a pigtail/harness or something with the mod done so it can truly be plug and play.

Fusion 360 is suggested as it's easy and you can run it free.

Fire control uses Mach 3 so yeah everything is ready to go.

Assemble the whole thing as it just bolts together, and grab some free cut files offered on their share site to get it up and running.

    If you buy any upgrades, that'll require a few extra steps;

Z-Axis Torch Height Control (optional for my table, standard on the larger tables) - requires a little soldering and plugging stuff in. My PrimeWeld comes with a CNC adapter that I'll need to solder 4 cables to and plug it into the Langmuir box. One is for the voltage feed (which tells the torch how high or low to be on the metal to be cut) as well as an ON OFF.

XL kit - just requires the replacing of 3 main parts which is the Y gantry, one part of the frame assembly (parallels the gantry), and the threaded piece the whole thing rides on.

Laptop stand - self-explanatory. They offer the cut file for this but I opted to buy it just to have it set up from the get go.

Water table - self-explanatory, just an extra step in the assembly shortly after assembling the frame together.

One part that isn't part of the kit but something I opted to get myself was an IPT 60 machine torch.

The system is setup to mount a hand torch; I want to use a machine torch so I bought that as well as the "mount" for the machine torch.

This way if I ever need I can just unplug the machine torch, plug in the hand torch, and cut something on the fly without the need to disassemble anything really. Both torches use the same consumables.

Got the small one, with the XL, THC, water table, and laptop stand options.

I would've bought the Pro but I still need to add a 20 ton press and brake kit later and I won't have any room :(

haha I hear ya. Space is tough. I have one wall dedicated to my crossfire, 60 gallon compressor, and my 20 ton press. I have enough room to fit the pro so I’m definitely considering upsizing

Small garage here; granted it's for 2 cars..I need to keep room available to throw my vehicle in or the wife's.

Just got done doing some repairs only to find I need to do something else here shortly -

it’s a good little setup. Nice at least that you can move the cars out if you need the extra space for a specific project

Good to hear, didn't know you had one yourself.

And yeah tell me about it; last project was an 8' by 10' frame

    Oh damn that's awesome

The cuts on the TRD are stupid clean; hoping I can figure out speeds right away to get some nice clean cuts

Got a bunch of 1.1 tips and electrodes to go through in figuring stuff out, but I also just ordered some 0.8 tips for narrow cuts in case I'm doing smaller lettering

What size tips do you use for yours?

Been super happy with the table man! I have a hypertherm power max 30xp and it’s been a great little machine.

To be honest, I’m not sure what the sizes are hahaha. On my hypertherm, the tips I use are either “normal” or “fine cut” (for that tighter intricate stuff)

Made these racks today for one of my other bosses. I’ll be welding them into his storage container so that he can store pipe and curtain track on it that we use to hang blue screens and green screens on stage.

Nice, Hypertherm's are quality machines. We had one at my last job.

As mentioned, I normally use 1.1 sized tips but my 0.8 tips just arrived.

    20230105_164125.jpg

You can see the difference here.

    20230105_164147.jpg

Also didn't realize my drag tips are 0.9 which makes sense cause they're meant for thinner gauge steel.

Find an independent, Airgas can be hard to deal with if you own your own (even if you bought from them). Be aware if you buy and see LTL ( it used to be a thing) anywhere on your receipt it means life time lease. You dont own the cylinders, they are leased.

Dont accept an exchange of a cylinder with a name on the ring neck unless you really trust your guys you deal with.

Renting a 330 size is a better deal if you really blow through the gas, do not purchase a 244 and up size. Lotta regulations on exchanging one, purchase 150 cf down.

I'm curious to know what the pin out is on the connector.

My Miller Spectrum says no machine torch available. I'm curious if the PW had the same connector.

Cound you snap a pic with a tape measure across the connector for reference.

Please don't hurry. I won't be home for over a month from now.

    Thanks

    I'll snap some.
