    nope. chebby stays home when its bad. not that he isn't capable of handling the roads - more of an issue that if anyone else were to hit me and put chebby out of commission i'd be screwed. finding him was a needle in a hay stack. ain't gonna happen twice. and then i have nothing to haul the camper with.
    not a good time of year for that!

    but ts the weekend! now's the time to party!

    but no - ford and dodge have less payload capacity so if i went to either of them i would have to get a 1 ton short bed to get enough payload rating for the camper. as is i have chebby maxed out with it

    autotrader says there are 6 used chebby 2500 gas long bed trucks in a 500 mile radius of me. all of them have at least twice the mileage that chebby has and all but one are the base model WT trim.

    All the big three make trucks with camper pkgs and gasoline engines. But finding trucks the right combination of options can be tricky if you only want something local. But if you’re willing to travel to get what you want or pay to have it delivered to you, I’m sure something can be found.

    I found Chebby in September 2019 and the camper in April 2020. scooped up both right before the whole COVID mess hit and lots were empty. both are way nicer than I thought I could afford but just happened to find a perfect deal on both used but in like new condition.
    Honestly, I think if Chebby ever were wrecked I would probably trade in the camper and just start over. But that ain't happening because I think I'll have the camper paid for this summer :dancingbacon:

    Actually, pretty amazed, even with it snowing today, still eked out a couple kWh from the panels. Should be sunny tomorrow, and then most of next week, so excited to see what I get out of the panels. I’ve calculated payback at just over 10 years right now, and the panels and inverters have a 25 year warranty.
