Yeah, we ended up with a 1 year old outback touring 3.6R. Perfect shape. Very happy with it so far.

That 1994 thunderbird...oh man. It was like 2001ish. I think it was on its second transmission, and Dad had just had the engine rebuilt. We were out in the garage chasing down some problem or another when we looked down between the heads (ford 4.6 modular - lots of room under there), and it was completely full of motor oil for no discernable reason. It went to carmax that afternoon  That car was fun to drive, rode like a couch and had plenty of power and comfy seats, but the drivetrain was just miserable on the reliability.

LC vs GX vs 1g are nowhere near a fair comparison.

LC (80 series) - utilitarian tractor, not really enough power to break much without effort. Basic, but good enough.

GX - luxury SUV with a V8. Can break stuff (drive train wise if lead footed) and basic things can be expensive (hvac controls, stereo, auto height control etc). Luxury and extra, but also essentially a V8 4runner.

1g - also tractor and not enough power to break anything unless you lift etc.

I'm the same way. Even when I am relaxing after a long day work I'm still thinking I need to get the snow blower on the driveway.

On the drive to work today day I was making a list of summer truck stuff.

All of those are based on The Prado 120 platform it's pretty sturdy. In fact the most disappointing of all of Toyota's ifs offerings has to be on the 100 series it doesn't cycle hardly anything and it's pretty breakable in the steering department

Didn't the 100 series use torsion bars? I wonder why they didn't just use the 120 suspension for it.

Man...seems the larger tables use this same fire control/box which tells me I should be able to extend the table size with ease.

There are additional pigtails for power and signal to add a second Y axis motor

Swapped injectors and spark plugs in the AMG, waaaay easier than even the Tacoma. Gotta wait until tomorrow when I sober up to take it for a test drive. Had good company while working.

Seems fitting that a wiring diagram be the first thing in the manual for a British car
